Good size, good value, good edge...
The media could not be loaded. I work in maintenance and a decent knife is something I’ve been needing. I chose this model because one handed operation was a plus. The opening mechanism takes a minute to get the knack for and seems like it may require a bit of break in, but that may just be my own lack of finesse. The coating will protect against corrosion but regarding the edge this is something I expect to sharpen weekly which I don’t mind at all at this price point.Regarding the sharpness..mine came nice and sharp and cut paper better than I expected. And..well about 6 hours ago I got a case of butter fingers and dropped it. Caught it with my foot and for my carelessness I got 3 stitches out of the deal. It has no issue cutting through Asics running shoes. Embarrassing to admit, but there it is.Only 5 days in but until I want to shell out for a $100ish EDC this seems like a great value.

dangerously sharp
I have had this knife for 3 weeks and its now my EDC I dont even notice its cliped in my pocket stitting in my truck for 12 hours in a row,I do notice my CRKT Hammond which has a double lock and serrated and more tatical grip and can be opened a little faster, but its not as tough or sharp. Also I compare it to my Ka-Bar Bobcat folder and its way heavier it has an old school lockback and its also serrated and had a tatical grip, but its way more clumbsy and hard to close and it has the same steel as the Cuda but a pinch thicker like my Gerber Gator except AUS8 and rubber griped.all of the above clip to your pocket except the gerber and the CRKT has four diffrent locations for the clip but it can dig into your trousers on a long road trip.If you were to be in a marine fight the CRKT Hammond would not slip out of your hand and it can be tied to make a spear so its the most tatical, but the Cuda is the best EDC(every day carry)I put the Bobcat in the old glovebox and the Gator in my tool chest. With the Hammond cliped in one pocket and the Cuda in another your ready prepared for some tough streets.

Since Camillus went of business 2007' it was the re-birth of the brand and the Cuda knife nice!!!
I gave the Camillus Cuda 5 stars because this knife was rare find after 2007.This knife was made in the USA by Camillus back in the day before the big yard sale at Camillus. As a knife collector for 30 yrs I did have this knife in my collection, b/4 2007 and the price and quality was top notch. as the years rolled by and the sale of the old Camillus had taking place, this cuda knife was selling for $150-200. in very small quantity. That said just my luck I found the Cuda Carbonitride knife and it's even better the before nice!!! smooth operation of the blade with a flick of the wrist, fit and finish is excellent. AUS-8 blade steel/G-10 handel. I have not had any problems with the liner lock as some have wrote in prior postings. For the price payed. I'm very happy with this knife cuts through 550 Para-cord like going through butter boxes fuzz sticks ex ex. Camillus is under new ownership and management for several years now kudo to Camillus thank you!!!. a must own knife check it out, you cant beat the price and the quality, as I stated before this knife was selling for north$150.00. After '2007 very unique way by design to deploy the blade. More over I have the original issue Camillus Air Force survival knife, Ontario is contracted to manufacturer this knife too, again Camillus brand is allot better quality in opinion. I hope this information is helpful.

Good remake of an old classic - worth the price
While the original Camillus went out of business, a fate faced by, and facing, many companies that produce products in the US when there is a sea of much cheaper (and often inferior from a quality perspective) products produced in China/Taiwan, the brand has been revived under new ownership. While these "new" Camillus knives are produced in China/Taiwan, their quality seems to be noticeably higher than your typical mass-produced blades from overseas. Their MSRP reflects this higher quality, but buying from Amazon gets you a much lower price and makes them a rather good value, IF you accept the knife for what it is: a decent quality knife for the price. Let's face it, we live in a global economy. For numerous reasons it is just not possible, nor realistic, for companies to not outsource some of their work. Provided they maintain quality control standards, there is no reason that a company cannot produce a high-quality product in a Taiwanese factory, many "higher-end" knife companies have moved production of at least some of their products to Taiwan to keep prices affordable. As to the knife, the Cuda was a classic from the "old" Camillus line and is reproduced here pretty faithfully. The negative reviews I have seen here do not reflect my experience nor the quality of the two Cudas I have purchased and used. If the negative reviews are honest, I suspect the people writing either 1) got bad knives (which can happen with ANY product aside from custom, one-off, handmade items and while not the most desirable situation, the knife does have a lifetime warranty allowing for any defects to be addressed), 2) they abused the knives, or 3) Camillus fixed problems they had with original iterations of the knife. Both my knives lock up solidly with the liner lock centered perfectly and securely engaged, came sharp from the factory, and when closed the blade centering is perfect with no chance of the blade contacting any other part of the knife (some reviews stated that the edge touched the pins connecting the sides of the knife togetherleading to dulling/chipping of part of the blade, this is not the case with either knife I purchased). As far as the opening mechanism, it is reproduced faithfully from the original Camillus design which is both good and bad. Back when the original Cuda was being produced there weren't the various assisted opening systems for folding knives that are now available. The Cuda opening system enabled you to open your knife faster than anything else out there. In the current market there are far easier to use assisted opening knives than the Cuda; however, with just a little practice, the Cuda can be opened more quickly than is possible with not only current assisted opening systems, but also more quickly than a true automatic knife. Unlike the current assisted opening systems where a slight push on part of the blade or moving the thumb stud a fraction of an inch results in an opened knife, the Cuda opens best, and fastest with a combination of moving the release button and a flick of the wrist. As I said though, a little practice and you'll have the blade deployed every bit as fast as any other opening method or system. As a Veteran of the Marine Corps who has used many, many knives and now, as both a collector and daily user of knives of all sorts, I can say that the current version of the Cuda is a solid knife for the price. You get a sharp blade made of decent steel, solid construction, a comfortable knife for EDC, and a piece of knife history. It may not be the "old" Camillus Cuda, but it is still a good design. Are there better knives out there? Of course. But as with almost everything, you get what you pay for, in this case you get a little more than you pay for.

Oh Well
The Knife is at best OK. The blade is average. Harder to open than I thought it would be.The blade dose not hold it's edge better or longer than any average Knife. I guess I was expecting the Camillus of old.The knife is OK and if you can find it on sale it may do what you need.As long as you don't expect a lot.
