The Foundation Pianist Book 2, PianoTrainer Series: A technical and musical curriculum for pianists at post Grade 2 level

What a fabulous medley of pieces - suitable for about grade 2 following on from book 1. Students are encouraged to listen to the pieces first before playing them, and to think about interpretation of the pieces before they play them. Hand crossing is explored relating them to arpeggios which are divided between the two hands. This books also takes the students through the musical timelines in more detail than book 1. Scales are explored in more detail, including melodic minor scales. It ends with studies and short pieces that explore syncopation & introduces the student to Jazz and pentatonic scales - a valuable tool in developing independent learners.
