I have been reading many books on UTI and cistitis recently and all mention how to avoid or treat the problems. Dr Mishra's book gives excellent information on both mainstream and alternative medicine. His approach is homeopathic and Eastern medicine but everything he says is helpful if products are available. The most helpful information I've found in all these type books is the use of bicarbonate of soda - plain baking soda - stirred into water and then drunk. It will stop the burning of a UTI. Soda changes the PH balance from acidic to alkaline. There are good tips and advice in this book.
