Brand New & hard to find
When I was in high school the "Nerds" wore a slide-rule on their belt as a status symbol. It was symbol of their superior mathematical intelligence. I was surprised to learn that slide-rules have gone completely out of fashion. Nowadays they are about as common as a steam powered farm tractor. You can find used slide rules on Ebay, and Craigs list, but the good ones are rather expensive. I bought this to exercise my mind and see just how it was that this device was allegedly used to go to the moon. This particular slide rule is a plastic student model, but the markings are quite clear. It came boxed, Xmas wrapped, and well protected inside the mailing envelope. What I've learned is that slide rules multiply by adding log scales. It was always hard to determine the place value, and it still is. It's no wonder they were considered status symbols in the old days. It does take some mental agility to use one. Nevertheless, they are worth studying and I don't regret my purchase. However like everyone else I have directed my attention to learning how to use a scientific calculator which are not exactly easy either. I have managed to learn scientific notation, and the difference between Radians and Degrees. I don't think a scientific calculator or a slide rule could actually get a man to the moon, but not because of any mathematical inaccuracy. If you have an interest in how computations were estimated in the past, a slide rule is a good tool to keep in your drawer and pass on to your grand children.

1970s Deja Vu
While obviously old, it looks new in a faded box. If you enjoy doing cube-roots on a piece of plastic, then this is for you !

Works as well as it ever did.
I purchsed this to show some kids how things were done before computers and calculaters. The sr71 was designed in the 60's by engineers using sliderules and pencils. Nice airplane.

This is a slide-rule. It's what I purchased. Not a screen protector, description is wrong.
It's very nice, good to about 3 decimals. Don't know why it's showing as "Glass Screen Protector Designed for iPhone 11 Pro Max/iPhone Xs max with Touch Accurate and Impac..."

Nostalgia satisfied
Yes, a good working 10" slide rule. Not a smooth professional aluminum slide rule, but not so bad either and the markings are good.

Says Used-New It Is Definitely NOS
Great buy, I got it to learn Log-Log Slide Rules which aren't really very intuitive. The booklet is a great guide to learning what you need to know. The slide rule that I got was brand new, not something you see every day.

Perfect condition.
This was a gift for my son's graduation. It already came perfectly gift wrapped. Unfortunately, we had to unwrap it because we were going to put it in a shadowbox. It came with a perfect holder and the original instruction book. All in A-1 condition.
