Surprisingly in my books this a success as a sequel. Not better than the first but equally as good, which is hard to come by in a two part series. I love how they expanded and went into more depth with the reach of demonic activity in the classroom. A pretty timely illustration as well dealing with our currently social-political climate. But the message stays the same: Christ has the authority over all powers, influences, and oppression, and it’s up to us as Christian’s to defend the faith and bring those enslaved in darkness into light!

Only a person who has come through the spiritual battles could understand this book, I read both books this present darkness and piercing the darkness when they were first published, and have over the years read and reread them, I have bought more copies of both books, so much I have lost count, giving them away to awaken my friends to the truth of the spiritual world and the fight all around us, as I reread both books this week, it awakens in me the importance of prayer, I recommend to anyone to read both of these books

I read this book a trillion years ago and decided to read it again. I have cried, and laughed, and rejoiced loudly! This book has touched my soul completely, and has solidified my conviction that Good always triumphs over Evil! Amen!

Peretti has the ability to provide a glimpse behind the veil. To let us see the activity of a realm outside of our natural sight. While this book is considered 'fiction', in reality there is significant supernatural activity taking place all around us...all the time. This book (and its predecessor) really help to give us an understanding of that unseen activity based in biblical account without the embellishments of human preference.My only challenge with is volume is that it too very long to get to the heart of the story. It felt (to me) that maybe there was more character introductions than were necessary, but once it picked up.....wow!

Love these books by Peretti. Read them a long time ago and wanted to read them again. Encourages one to pray in these times of spiritual battles.
