Nudes on Location: Posing and Lighting for Photographers Kindle Edition

I got this book after I kept going back to the first book I bought by Bill. This is the next best way to learn if you can't take one of his workshops. I really like the direct way this author teaches and he definitely has honed his signature look and gives great advice on what works when shooting nudes on location.My interest is in expanding my comfort zone from landscape and wildlife to more portraiture on location instead of studio so this title was exactly what I was looking for.

Great book! Yes, it is about nude poses in a variety of locations, different poses, etc, but it is so much more! The author explains the ambient light, including direction from the model. his lens type,and camera settings, and any other special considerations. His tips are invaluable for outdoor shots even if the model was dressed! Of course, the photos are beautiful of the locations and the models, but the real value is in the descriptions and insight provided.

I accidently bought this because I wasn't paying attention. I am a lousy photographer but I was able to pass it on to a friend who loves photography. The details about the locations and the times the photos were taken have helped him try different ways to take pictures now. He loves it and plans on getting more reference material to use.

I preordered this book. I could not wait. I was not disappointed. The models are beautiful, his photos awesome and his prose telling how the photo was done easy to understand. It made me sign up for my first workshop with Bill. I collect how to photo books and I hope his next book goes into print., Bill knocked this one out of the park. Dan H

The first impression of this book is that it is a bit 'minimum effort' in terms of production. The binding is not that nice, and although the photography is undoubtedly good, it too is let down by the production.

The photos of the models all seemed to have a headache, the way their hands would always be touching their heads. Also some information was redundant, you would read something in a early chapter then read something similar in a later chapter. I gave 2 stars because images were in focus and exposed nice.

This has been a pretty informative book, and I look forward to putting into practice some of the tips I've picked up from it.
