Takes its time to cook, like it's supposed to
I bought an open box because it was so much cheaper, lol. I haven't been disappointed. I wanted to make a pork roast, and it came out perfect after 24h. No burnt food (I used a slow cooker last year that belonged to someone else, and it burnt everything to charcoal when it was left overnight - slow cookers shouldn't burn anything, especially on low). The light is difficult to see. It's not shiny at all. You can only tell it's on when you unplug it and the light goes dark instead of pale red. I thought it was broken at first. Also, the light is on if it's plugged in - it does not indicate if it's turned on, which of course created more confusion. It's not defective or anything worth taking a star off for, but PLEASE be aware so you don't end up returning a fully functional product because you can't tell if it's turned on lol.It also emitted a burning smell at first, which dissipated. I'm guessing some glue or something got on the heating element... I'm not sure, but it's not the first time I've seen a heated electronic make that smell, and it is truly nothing to worry about as long as there are no other symptoms that the device is malfunctioning. It will go away shortly. Don't panic. 🙂Overall, a good slow cooker. I was nervous about buying my first slow cooker that wasn't a Crock Pot, but this seems to be just as good.

its a crock pot
so it does its job. yes it does get hot so don't touch it! but thankfully its not melting handles off. so that being said. I like that its a simple crock pot. these don't need all the whistles and bells. off/low/high/warm...what else is needed? its a good size for a large family too!

A good slow cooker for the price.
For the money, this is a nice slow cooker. The temp settings seem to be fairly true to temperature, and it cooks nice and evenly. This is a good product from what I've seen so far, time will tell after I have used it more as to it's durability. There are a few things that keep me from rating it higher then a three. First, the outside of the unit gets hot to the touch. This seems to be common with most brands today. The porcelain is nice but did have a few very small imperfections in it where there was dust in the finish. Barely worth mentioning. The one thing that I probably liked the least was the glass lid with the steel rim. When I set it on the counter is seemed relatively flat, but when I put it on the pot, it doesn't seem to seal as well as I would like. The first time I used it I was hearing a popping sound from the lid, and noticed that it was coming from the top where the handle was put on. After I loosened it, it seemed to stop. Probably the glass expanding and contracting and I think it was probably put on too tight. All small issues, and I'm a picky person, but I think these are things that could be better. If Nesco would charge more and put a heavy glass lid on this unit that sealed up well, I'd give it five stars.

Failed After 7 Months
Title says it all. Plugged it in, no led light, no heat. Cheaply made but not inexpensive. Was just ok when it worked.

Works great.
This is comparable to the brand name rival 6qt crock pot. I currently own a smaller rival crockpot that is about 10 years old but still working perfectly. The first thing I made in this was a 3lb bone in turkey breast that I rubbed with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic power, and paprika. I set it on a sliced onion and let it cook for 4 hours on low and it came out perfect. The skin was perfectly browned and the meat stayed moist. I let it rest and cool on a plate covered in foil and then sliced it and put it in a container and covered it with the drippings and everyone liked it for Christmas dinner. Looking forward to making more things with this. Only thing I don’t like is the outside of the slow cooker gets really hot to the touch, but this happens on all of them.
