Amazing build quality and value. Had a defect at first, but Movo being based in California sent replacement part without issue.
Updated review:I was immediately impressed by the Movo MFF400...quality and value both are very good, and I can tell you with certainty that this will be an indispensable and ever-present attachment to my 4K cinematography rigs. In fact Ive created a modular system of just camerax cage, rails, and MFF400 motors that quick mounts into everything else; my shoulder rig, tripod, dolly, jib crane, etc...the "brain" at the core of all of my equipment is Camera, Glass, and MFF400. My depenence on it is real, and when I recieved a defective zoom handle out of the box it made me very nervous. Movo is based in California - most likely a re-branding reseller but thats perfectly normal. They responded and apologized immediately and said theyd send a new part without question. It took nearly a month to arrive (thus the 1 star withheld) but Movo did replace the faulty part and did so with a smile. They have wonderful customer support and are very proactive in responding to email, and in today's USA good customer support is becoming a rarity. Even Amazon has lost its good customer service cred after outsourcing most of it to the Phillipines. Movo was quick to respond and honor the 1 year warranty. The Movo FollowFocus MFF400 is a steal, very solid build quality and priced at least $80 less than any - and I mean ANY competing identical product* (such as Neweer) and trust mw I am meticulous in my research. Response time of the trigger triggers to motor is very good, with approx. 1/12 of a second lag which is unnoticeable in use. Any small/indie filmmaker using Cine/Prime lenses needs, yes NEEDS this product, and I firmly suggest you go with this "gear" type rather than the rubber belt-driven version, which is underpowered and flawed (the MFF400 is the improved version 2). Im quite satisfied and enthused about Movo and this product, highly recommended.*[China has been genius in creating product lines that carry no brand, they then sell the manufactured good to branded by the reseller. Thus you have several brands carrying the same product, at least as far as I understand it. Dont let the C word scare you - everything, including alot of Canon, Zeiss, and very high end expensive products are manufactured in China. Its unavoidable and, like Japan did, the quality is of products are increasing quickly and Ive bought many a product for my company directly from China that has stunning build quality. If I am wrong about Movo being a re-brand then I apologize and they should correct me in a review reply)First review:[Actually, the build quality and value of this product is stellar - I would have given it 5 stars a few days ago but I had an electronic part give out. I'm withholding three (3) stars until Movo fixes this problem - replacing the handle with a working one or agreeing to re-imburse a repair bill is all I want. Once the problem is remedied and my new system functions properly, and depending on my experience with Movo on this problem, I will update this review and add back some stars.]

Very nice!
The media could not be loaded. I made a 18 minute review of this thing and I cannot post the full review here so I limited it to where I had it set up. There is a lot to say about the MFF400 and I did my best to go through it all! It's very adaptable, even with micro four thirds cameras. I expected it to be heavier, but it is actually pretty light! The shoulder pad is very comfortable compared to the sunrise shoulder rig I have. Plan for a good hour to sit down and just get to know how it operates. The directions are easy to walk through both for assembly and programming. I do wish smaller follow focus rings were included, but with a rubber band I easily made them work for now. Very solid build!

Great product to add to the arsenal
Im only reviewing with the limited experience i had since i havnt used the product for a full event. I will update the review then. I received the parcel in South Africa a week ahead of schedule. Everything was in order and simple to assemble by just looking at the 3D drawing. Its light and everything works as it should. The motors beahve like good quality motors and react perefctly.Pros1. Motors react great2. Speed dials to increase or decrease focus and zoom speed3. Comes with plastic rings to engage the lens and motor.4. Its light in weight.Cons1. I wish there was positive locks for the rear shoulder section and front section. If not enough pressure or too much pressure is put on the current locks, things can go bad.2. Plate that is mount onto the camera is not positive secured and can slip if the side lock becomes loose3. Height adjustment of the camera has 4 locks which is a hassle to use, though you wont adjust it many times.I do feel as much as the zoom and focus buttons are well placed and drives the motor perfectly, they should have been better to be pressure sensitive. All in all its a great product at a low price and do recommend it.

Oh how disappointing.
So many things I don’t like. The screws stripped within a day of VERY light use. The motors are clunky, the controls are cheap and not sensitive enough, the plate assembly is a complete joke. It doesn’t tighten so the camera starts slipping down. Keep in mind I’m using a Sony A7sII. Very light camera but the tension screws just can’t handle the weight.Could be manufacturer flaw but on all the separate elements?Regarding the motors and control, its so hard dynamically move between focus positions. It just isn't sensitive enough to use in an active shoot.

Almost good. But not.
Bought this in June 2019, and previous reviews are pretty much consistent with my results. Thumb screws take a lot of effort to screw tight enough to lock the rails in place for many of the parts. The baseplate has an up-down adjustment, but try as I might, it won't tighten up enough that the baseplate doesn't just fall down to its lowest position. The rig's ergonomics is very good, and all kinds of things can be adjusted. It probably won't fit a matte box on the front of your camera, so you will probably wind up investing in longer rails if you have one. Much of the rig, especially the baseplate, is so difficult to work with, I bought a used ProAim shoulder rig that should fit all the parts I like on the Movo, with a much better base for the camera. The follow focus and electronic zoom are good, and I attached a remote shutter with gaffer's tape to the handle so I can start/stop the camera with two hands on the grips.I shot one day with this, and my next shoot I went back to handheld. With this rig, I shot all day with an Inferno attached to the rig and it was good as a basic shoulder rig. But I had to give up on the focus and zoom because the wonky baseplate made them impossible to adjust correctly. Hopefully, by combining multiple rigs I can get something I'm happy with. For most people on a limited budget, this will not be a good standalone solution. #Frankenrig

Poor product bad customer service
I do not tend to write review for products all that often, but I feel I should for this one.The rig did not perform as I expected. The motors have a hard time in staying in position because they will not tighten sufficiently and as a result push away from the lens when in use. To get any kind of result from this I resorted to using tape and string to keep the gears locked together. This only helps the issue and is a long way from solving it. More recently I have began to use this as a shoulder rig and boycotted the motor functions completely. What I have now is a very expensive DSLR shoulder rig.I contacted the company to enquire about the issue and while things started out friendly, they ended up concluding things very abruptly in saying 'I apologize, we are in the United States and cannot offer a solution in this case. Have a wonderful day.'Would not recommend this product to anyone. If you want the follow focus and zoom capabilities invest more. Otherwise, just get a standard shoulder rig. Do not get burned like I did.Best of luck!

Wirklich gutes RIG
Hatte das Rig nur einen Tag und im großen und ganzen sehr zufrieden damit. Handling und Verarbeitung sehr gut. Die Motoren wirken sehr Solide und langlebig... Leider hatte bei mir die Steuereinheit einen Wackler.
