Love this tripod! Highly recommended
I picked this tripod up for my girlfriend for our trip we planned to a few different national parks, while it was on sale one day. I have the MeFOTO Roadtrip Aluminum tripod myself, and love it, but now I'm jealous of her ZOMEi Q666! It's lighter, has two padded legs to carry it by, and feels more sturdy than my tripod. I also love the feel of the knobs for tightening/loosening the legs and ball head more on this than my own tripod. Fully extended it is plenty tall enough for pretty much everyone (I'm 5'9" and it's a perfect height for me at full height), and if you fold it down and put it in the included carrying case, it is perfect for traveling with. It fits great strapped to the side of my Amazonbasics DSLR Camera and Laptop backpack, as well as just in my carry-on without having to force it closed. It's light enough to carry around while hiking through the woods and great even for low angles for those awesome landscape and night shots to capture the foreground with the stars and milky way!TL;DR - If you're looking for a great, affordable, sturdy, travel tripod for your DSLR (this even works with her 7DII w/100-400L II lens) then buy this one! You won't regret it!Lastly, the Carbon fiber version is listed as less than 1 lb lighter, so it doesn't seem worth the extra $40+, if it was a $20 difference, maybe, but not $40+ difference, just my $0.02

Excellent Versatile Tripod
The Zomei Q666 is an outstanding tripod that gives the best value for price. If you are looking to upgrade from a basic tripod I highly recommend purchasing the Q666 , especially if you're on a budget. The features of the tripod overcome the price tag with monopod support, adjustable legs, and the included ballhead.Pros:The fluid ballhead is one the reasons I gravitated towards trying the Zomei Q666 and I was not disappointed. The bullhead allows you to shoot vertical and is extremely smooth to capture panoramic images or even pan during video. . The features and versatility of this tripod is by far the reason I can not recommend this enough. The twist locks for the legs are also more comfortable but this is just my own preference. The ability to switch the column to get closer shots is also extremely helpful for low angles or macro photography.Cons:While this tripod is not made of carbon fiber it feels sturdy and is also great in terms of its weight. The only part of this tripod I would have liked to see improved is a metal plate instead of the included plastic one.TLDR:Great tripod, no complaints, if you need a reliable tripod: this is one.

Light weight but sturdy
I bought this tripod just to keep in my car for on the spot needs. The tripod folds nicely into a small enclosed bag that is light. After unfolding it as long as you do not extend it to full length on a long exposure (over 5 seconds) the tripod does a great job. The ball head is surprisingly very sturdy and easy to adjust. Overall its a great little tripod that does everything it is made to do.

My first real tripod
This is my first travel tripod that I got to go with my new Canon. I finally moved up from a point and shoot camera to a DSLR type and wanted to get everything I would need to take good scenery shots and Rocket launches from Wallops island, VA. this one was recommended to me by a good friend in the photography biz and I am not disappointing. It is lightweight but yet sturdy enough that it doesn't feel like i will be knocking it around while messing with the camera. it has a lot of knobs and doodads on it so you can fine tune the level and angles. i am not sure how much i will use those, but it was cheaper to buy this one, than one that had the presets like a miter saw.it is really tall when its all stretched out. the camera is about 6' tall at that point, so its going to be nice not to hunch down to set stuff up. solid construction, aluminum is what the description says, there is a tripod feature that will make hiking or air show pictures easy. the only thing i wish this model had the flip knobs instead of the twist knobs to adjust the legs. seems a little cumbersome, but not a deal breaker. it came with a really nice padded over the shoulder bag that feels like it can take a beating. its thick material and stiffened to hold the square shape without anything in it, and its not hard to pack and unpack the tripod.i am happy with the tripod, it looks like it will pack nice into a bigger backpack with the rest of your gear. i would recommend it and if i needed another, i would buy again.

Ball Head Tripod with the best combination of size, weight, load, and max/min height
I had originally ordered the MACTREM tripod that's very popular and highly rated on Amazon. However, I had to request a replacement several times because, each time, one of the legs did not lock securely at a standing angle (would slip). Eventually, I just returned it and looked at some other options so I came to this Zomei tripod. It has everything that I need and the packed length is even shorter than the MACTREM by a few inches! I think that I glossed over the Zomei previously because it is listed as 3.3 lbs and the other option was listed as 2.8 lbs. However, when I weighed them both on a kitchen scale, the Zomei was actually lighter by about 0.3 lbs (3.06 vs 3.349). The MACTREM tripod is actually 0.5 lbs heavier than advertised! Weight and size matter when traveling or hiking/backpacking and I'm really glad I ended up with this Zomei. This tripod has the best combination of price, size, weight, carrying capacity, max/min height for my needs. An added bonus is it comes with a padded carrying case which I didn't know I needed until now. The little extra padding makes carrying much more comfortable. Seems well made overall and the legs lock securely at the proper intervals. My only criticism is that the grip on the monopod is a bit low so it's more comfortable for shorter people. It's usable for me and I'm 5'9".Also, I'm upgrading from a cheaper 3-axis tripod so, if you're in that boat, I'd definitely pay the extra to get a ball head. Way faster to adjust and compose your shot.
