Great quality knife!! Feels great in your hand and cuts through almost everything like butter!
I love this knife! Requested it for my birthday! It matches the knives set and block that we bought about 25 years ago. I love my J.A. Henkels/Zwilling knife set! The knives have held up so well over the years and I expect this one will be the same! Even through years of teenagers and adult children using them. They haven't pitted from teenagers not always washing or rinsing them immediately after use. That said I have tried to hand wash, dry and put away after use. I don't put them in the dish washer, and I try to keep the blades protected (storing them in the knife block or in the drawer with a protector over the blade). Two things that I would say 1) be careful it is sharp. I cut myself the first time that I used this knife. 2) Follow the directions for sharpening the knife. This knife could easily become an heirloom that you can pass down to your kids/grandkids. I do wish that it came with a blade protector.

Excellent Knife
This was a gift for my in-home chef of a wife. She is awesome at cooking at actually knows how to properly hold and use a knife to chop effectively. This sucker is sharp... and balanced... and just works well. She absolutely loves it. As a fellow reviewer said, Throw your one tiki man Henckels in the trash and get these. I own a set of the one tiki man Henckels made in China, and while they get the job done for your novice guy like me, even I notice a huge difference using these knives. We are slowly replacing the set as I can afford to, since, yes, one knife is worth a whole cheap set, but these babies will last a life time when taken care of. So far, still sharp and no staining like the cheaper Chinese ones. Would totally buy again, but hoping I won't have to for another 30 years or so...

Excellent but unconventional santoku
I have had this knife for a few months and I like it as a good utility knife. It is very versatile, and the quality is superb, just like other Zwilling Pro knives I own are of superb quality and design. This particular model is surprisingly heavy for a santoku, and it is not balanced like a typical santoku. It is heavy at the handle. My understanding is that Zwilling also makes a "slim" santoku that may weigh less. I don't consider the weight and balance to be defects, but they are features that affected how I learned to use the knife. The knife serves well as a santoku, and can also serve as a chef knife. It's also a very good vegetable knife, and it serves well as a vegetable cleaver. So, it is functionally a good santoku, but according to an unconventional design sensibility.

My favorite and go to knife!
Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Four Star II Hollow-Edge 7-Inch SantokuI have both 7 and 5 inch Santoku knives in this brand and model. They are perfect for everyday cutting veggies. These are my go to knives and they don't get a chance to go into the drawer since I use them every time I am in the kitchen. It has a sturdy, good grip and evenly distributed weight where it won't tire your hand even after several minutes of cutting. It is sharp which is good. I always hand wash them immediately after use. I have had it for almost two years now and I haven't had the need to sharpen them yet!

Versatile, strong, razor sharp.
I bought this to add to my Zwilling Pro set. Was looking for a hollow blade general purpose knife that was less of a rocker and more straight edged than my chef knife. This is a beautiful piece and compliments my other Z-Pros. It is true to the Asian style with a very sharp angle cut (11°) and wide blade, making for a great knife in my block and cutting boards.Regarding the Pro line, I found I prefer this to other premium designs because of the bolster design that encourages proper grip and perfect balance. Also, the edge is sharp tip to heal, something many chefs might prefer.

Great knife
Bought this as a replacement for a block set we bought from bed bath and beyond. The one from the set we bought had the tip break off after 5 years. My wife is what I would describe as a step down from a legit chef. Cooks 6 nights a week and everything from scratch. She loves this knife. I'll admit it's an investment but it stays sharp and won't break. I went with German after reading reviews of the Japanese brands breaking.

A lot less steel then the 4 star I
Im not really a kitchen knife expert or anything, but I do own a set of 4 star I. Everything I have ever read says 4 star is by far Henckels best line...its their flagship (better then the pro s, better then the 5 star). Anyway my 4star I santoku fell onto my tile and the tip broke off a few months ago. I decided to replace it with the 4star II model. I just got it. It feels pretty good and is way sharper out of the box then the 4 star I. The extra steel on the handle is obviously taken from the spine of the blade. Looking at the 4star I and 4 star II side by side from the top down, the 4 star I has a much broader spine making the knife feel more sturdy.
