Chebe Bread Original Cheese Bread Mix, Gluten Free, 7.5-Ounce Bags (Pack of 8)

As others have noted, this mix is amazing! It's the greatest texture I've come across with gluten-free mixes. With it I've made everything from the biscuits to pizza crust to pot pies. A few comments: 1. Beware of the dust storm when opening the bag! 2. I've found grapeseed oil to work best. Steer clear of coconut oil--it makes too dense a biscuit. 3. The mix is very sweet! Of course the cheese adds some sodium content, but I always add more salt to taste. Adding Italian seasoning also works well. 4. Don't be deterred by the kneading/rolling requirement. It's fun and simple, and again, is a very easy consistency to work with. It also provides so much versatility in the thickness and shape. Again, these are just phenomenal, and I've found Amazon to have the best price. Now, if only these folks would sell this mix to Red Lobster!

Love these! Have bought multiple times. As someone who is gluten free because of allergies. This is very tasty. Would recommend to anyone to buy and try. Will be a repeat costumer and buy often

I love Chebe bread! I found it some years ago and won't be without several boxes of mix in the kitchen. One of the best things about it is it's the only gluten free bread that is an actual a dough, not a batter, and gets kneaded, to me the most fun part of bread making. It can be shaped, molded and all kinds of interesting things done with it. Made following the directions on the box it has the texture of a good Italian bread. Adding the cheese is lovely but optional if you're also dairy free. By adding a teaspoon of baking powder you get a lighter bread. Just right for hot dog and hamburger buns. With or without baking powder it makes a very nice pizza crust. Oh, and sandwich buns! Please know, gluten free breads need to be kept frozen, not refrigerated or kept on the counter. I've tried the other Chebe mix versions and they're all good but the original bread mix is my "gotta have" mix. The Chebe recipe web site, [...] /, has recipes worth trying using all the various Chebe mixes.

A quick and easy gluten free bread mix. This is wonderful for those evenings you want a comfort dinner and need some fresh baked bread. They are quick to mix and bake fast. Also, a great mix for kids to make while helping in the kitchen. Yummy as well~ we never have any left after dinner.

This is the first product review that I have written in years. I started a GF diet last year and have been experimenting with various GF bread products which had left me disappointed and fearing that rice cakes / corn tortillas would be my only real staple as a bread substitute. I tried the already made bread from one company (GAG), two pancake mixes (weird flavor) and various rice crackers (pretty good) but nothing could replace that real bread taste. I received my shipment of Chebe GF cheese bread mix last night and decided to go for it and make a few sandwich type rolls and two hotdog buns. It was surprizing easy to make and even the hotdog buns came out beautifully. The big test was the taste... Chebe did not disappoint. My husband grilled last night and I was actually able to eat a GF brat on a real bun. The bread was delicious and did not have that weird grainy texture or off taste that many other breads have. I am still going to experiment with other bread mixes but I can say that I will always have this as a staple in our house. Love it!

Oh my! I love this stuff! I am not a good cook and I don't like to experiment with making Gluten Free foods because I waste a lot of time/money on things I end up hating anyways. This is a GOOD buy. When my sister was diagnosed with Celiac, she tried this mix and had me try one of the cheesey bread balls. I was immediately hooked. It was soft, you can refigerate and reheat the leftovers and there are lots of different things you can use this for. Goes great with soups, a variety of suppers and as a treat. At the moment Amazon is fixing the listing or something so they are not selling them at a good price, but when they have them back up, I will definately be ordering more! The pizza crust mix is great too. I was a big fan of self-rising pizzas and that is what the mix is like! soft wonderful pizza crust. I can't reccomend these enough to people! Even ones who don't HAVE to eat GF like me. Edited to add: I was getting these at about 22.50 for 8 boxes. The prize has jumped a lot of Amazon so I buy it from Chebe's website in bulk now.

Seriously, these are awesome! So hard to find a quality GF bread. I'm excited now to try their other products! I've made these 3 times - and they are super easy and have turned out great every time! The first 2 times I made them into balls as recommended. They were great. Tonight rather than making 16 balls, I made 4 larger buns so we could have them with burgers. And yes, they worked really (!) well! Even before we were GF, neither of us liked a lot of traditional buns because they are so much volume of bread. I shaped these like hamburger patties and they came out perfect. When sliced in half, they were substantial enough to adequately hold a burger together and had a nice outer crunch and inner softness. I will definitely make these again and again! Just ordered the pizza dough and regular bread dough too. Oh, and I gave my mom a box - she took them on a camping road trip and cooked them in her dutch oven. She said they turned out great!

This is delicious! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. My kids love them and I had friends over who also really enjoyed them. I’m thinking this can be my new potluck addition when going to parties. Super fast and simple to make. Worth it!!
