Great dehumidifier!
I bought two of these. One is in my weather sealed gun safe, and one is in my closet next to my shower, keeping my shotgun dry. Before I had these, I would get light amounts of rust on my shotgun where scuffs and scratches existed on the gun. Even if I oiled them, eventually it would start rusting again. Now with the dehumidifier, there is no rust at all. Every couple months I have to plug in the device, but that is a very small price to pay. I had a similar story in my safe, some of my rifles and handguns would get rust in places, and since I put in the dehumidifier, there is none. With the small area that is being dehumidified in the safe, and because of the weather seal, I only have to plug in the dehumidifier ever six months or so!

Works well
I have had this in my safe for a few months now, and I recharge it every 2-3 weeks. The recharge is easy to do, and the plug is very accessible. Overall, it works well. It DOES get really hot while charging it, so be careful when you go to unplug it.

SAME MANUFACTURER AS MY ORIGINAL 15+ YEARS AGO!
My first model from 15+ years is identical to the model pictured. The new one that just arrived appears identical in build e.g., case, with the exception of having a tear drop viewing window, and the absorbent material appears to be different than my first one. It arrived nicely packaged AND sealed in clear wrapping to prevent foreign material intrusion. Absorbent material was completely discolored although plugging it in brought it to spec's with ALL absorbent material returning to orange unlike others I've purchased that looked similar but without the Remington Brand lable, and the absorbent material not returning to 100% orange and in one case only 50% of material would change color regardless of the amount of time plugged in to recharge/dry. These do get hot while plugged in to dry, the heat being generated while plugged in is completely normal as this is the process to return absorbent material to it's ready state of orange, although one should monitor the unit while plugged in as a procaution. During the drying process it is normal to see moisture collecting inside of the viewing window which indicates it's functioning normally by forcing moisture from the absorbent. REASON FOR REPLACEMENT: my original one was a good 15+ years old, absorbent material still funtioned but was loosing it's effectiveness thus having to be removed from my safe and plugged in much more frequently to dry. As mentioned earlier, others I've purchased look similar in nature but were made in China, they either didn't work at all or only half of the absorbent would dry. This newly purchased one has the Remington Brand lable on it's casing, and was made in Taiwan as was my first one, so very pleasantly surprised to see made in Taiwan! Taiwanese products are far superior than China, especially microchips. Although this doesn't have a microchip I am grateful to see it was still being manufactured in Taiwan! Thank you Remington!

No more mold.
This worked out quite well. I have one of those dehumidifiers that you have to heat up in the oven to recharge. I like the fact I can just plug this one into the wall and recharge it. It is not very much bigger than the one it replaces but it does take up less space the other one is about 4" in diameter where as this one is less than 2 inches deep. I hope this helps you. Oh yeah it works really well for keeping the inside of my small safe dry.

Working great
I am satisfied with this product, I have used it for a few months now . I have a safe in the basement so I use it in there ,it lasted about 6 weeks and then had to recharge for a day and then put it back in . I would recommend this product.

Does its job, but needs to be dried out much more frequently than advertised.
The product does exactly as advertised, but it's August, and I have to plug it in every 4 weeks. Not looking forward to this winter when I have to recharge it probably every week... It's worth the money for what it does though, just needs a bit more attention than I had hoped.
