Amazing Sub
I would give 5 more stars on this product if possible. This little box is replacing a Klipsch R-112 Sub, which is of itself a great product. What makes the SBS an improvement? Besides the overall sound, the app is fantastic for tuning in this sub, use it!. It really sets the SVS brand apart. Without professional equipment, I suggest going to YouTube and searching for "Bass Test". There's a great video that drops a sine wave from 2000 Hz to to zero. It's a good way to notice your gaps in bass by listening. In my particular instance, I live in an apartment with an open concept kitchen, there's a lot of space to pressurize for a 13 inch sealed driver, so I was afraid I was going to have to return it for something like the PB-3000. The first placement, was in front, near the center channel speaker. With this placement, I was able to rattle the walls and had a pretty good listening level, but there was a big hole around 50 Hz that took a lot of boost, and still was a little weak. Time for placement number 2. In the corner. Yes, I just put baby in the corner. Major difference. The SPL (volume) was significantly boosted and my 50Hz hole was far less prominent and much easier to correct. I now have the volume set at -12db and really can't boot it up without being evicted. I'm pretty sure if you went to reference level, the building would be leveled. My fears of returning this for something that puts out more SPL, are gone. With this placement and a little tuning with the app, there's a nice smooth curve down to about 28Hz, with the ability to hear it down to 20. Movies quake and shake now, and Music is tight, fast and punchy and the room pressurizes very well. This is a GREAT sub for the price, and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

Amazing quality
Wow just blends so seamlessly to my system. My old jbl pb10 got pushed to its limit over the years mostly being undersized for the room. the sealed box of the svs 3000 is very clean tight punchy response no more port chuffing witch I can’t stand from a ported box. Dont question yourself you won’t be disappointed in this sub. room size for reference is 12x18.

Very punchy, but very quiet in certain lower frequencies.
Amazing build quality, really love this sub, It was just not the right kind of sound I was going for my music and theater set up. Very strong punchy bass, sounds amazing for movies that have a lot of action, but I felt it was missing a lot of lower frequencies, you only get with the ported type. I did not like it for music for some reason. I guess I like more of an all encompassing bass feeling. Switched to PB3000, Wish I could keep both as they really do different things in terms of sound.

so far excellent
This 13 inch sub is heavy It has a grill across the front so that you cant accidentally damage the speaker Sturdy and cosmetically appealing (IMHO) This gives off a decent amount of low end bass which is what you need and is noticeably louder than a KEF KC92 that it replaced.. (and bigger) and for half the price!.. its night and day versus the KC92 I have this with a Sony OLED 65 and KEF LSX bookshelf speakers.. Sub is connected to the KEF LSX via RCA cable and not noticeable at all The biggest issue that folks could have is that it is not bluetooth compatible unless you spend about $150 or so on a unit to plug into it and make it compatible so that you can more easily move the sub around - this should come as standard? - but for what this produces cant complain given the price The remote (phone controlled) works excellent and set up takes about 20 seconds.. its so easy Would highly recommend and so much better than KEF Subs if anyone is comparing!!

What you would expect from SVS
Fills a 500 square foot area without trouble. Accurate bass. Hits hard, hits low.

Made a Huge Difference!
After much research and reading a great deal about bass acoustics and subwoofer performance, I settled on the SB-3000. (My 5.1.2 system consists of a Yamaha Aventage RX-A2060 AVR, Klipsch RP-280 front towers, Klipsch RP-250C, Klipsch R-10SW Sub, and Klipsch RP surrounds and height speakers.) I really hesitated spending this much on a SW, but am so happy that I did! The overall quality upgrade has been dramatic. This SW easily fills my 2,000 cubic ft living room/home theater and it delivers clear, smooth, and deep bass. It puts my old Klipsch R-10SW to shame—no comparison. (Admittedly, the Klipsch SW costs only about 1/3 the cost of the SVS SW.) Music was definitely my priority for this upgrade, but I wanted impressive LFE as well. This has exceeded expectations in both departments. I never realized how much better music could sound when it had a high quality, low-bass foundation. I put the SB-3000 to the test with the most demanding deep bass music I could find (hard rock, progressive rock, classical, rap, electronic, etc), and I have not detected any discernible muddiness or distortion playing back any of them, even at very high volumes. LFE on blu-rays has been a huge improvement as well. My old sub delivered plenty of volume with movies, but the SB3K delivers it not only loudly, but very clearly and precisely. So much more definition and finesse. It can deliver far more than my wife or I can take—truly deafening. The build quality is very solid and I really like the metal grill. The SVS app is fantastic. I am a tinkerer, so I love having the ability to try different settings to tweak the output at times. Lastly, SVS customer service is second to none. Ed Mullen helped with some questions I had and assisted me in dialing in my SW to perfection. I am thrilled with this purchase and will be buying a second SB-3000 in a few months in order to “go dual.” I strongly recommend the SB-3000--you will not be disappointed!

Good speaker but a so-so app for setting it up.
The bass is solid, with lots of punch and even at fairly loud listening levels, sustained LFE showed no signs of clipping. The only "sour note" is the iPhone app is unnecessary complex, confusing and suffers from a poorly designed user interface. It's difficult to tell of setting have been saved or even if the app is actually communicating with the speaker. Even though it indicates it is connected via Bluetooth, changing settings to the speaker aren't audible. I would be beneficial to have the app generate a test tone.

Power, precision, and boom!
I think masterswitch.com said it best. “The SB-3000.., taking everything the Ultra did well and housing it in a much more compact, affordable frame. Those with overly large rooms may need two of them to get the best sound, but for 90% of people, one of these will blow the damn walls off. One aspect we’d like to highlight is the excellent DSP (Digital Signal Processing). It allows a virtually infinite level of tweaking, and means that you can get precise, controlled bass that still manages to ooze power...It’s another winner for SVS, and right now, the only question is where on earth they go from here.” I have to admit, this sub caters to music and will be a music lovers dream. Movies, although good, may need some tweaking. You can’t go wrong if you want a small sized sub with a loud boom! I went dual. This sub never distorts, even at high volumes! I really don’t know how they did it. You will not regret the purchase. Have fun with the Bluetooth option to push this sub to its’ limits... and it will give you more than you would expect. I have not been disappointed. SVS did a great job. My walls shake!
