This is a 60cm long flexible rod with a grabber lever at one end and a magnetic ring and retracted grabbing claws at the other. You pull the lever like a syringe and when you pull it, the four metal claws extend from the hole at the bottom of the rod. When you let go of the lever, the claws grip the item with a decent amount of force to not drop it. The magnet at the end of the rod is also useful if you need to pick up something metallic, but it might struggle with anything too heavy, as the magnet isn't that strong. You can bend the rod into the appropriate shape for the situation and it will hold the shape well. However, if you apply any force to it, the rod will bend further. One of the most useful features is the built-in light. There is a button on the handle that turns on the light. The light is a bit obscured when the claws are retracted but, once the claws are opened, the light is bright enough to be useful. The description says batteries aren't supplied, but they are. You just have to unscrew the handle and remove the paper cover on top of the batteries to activate them. I used this grabber to pull out a shower hose that had come detached from the shower head and disappeared down a hole in the top of the bath. The grabber just about gripped the 2cm wide hose and, after quite a lot of patience, I managed to get it out. This saved me have to smash the tiles on the bath panel to get to the underside of the bath, so worth every penny.

Bought to replace my ancient pickup tool that I lost . . . Then as soon as this turned up, I found it, actually with this pickup tool, typical! It’s a pretty good little grabber it will pick up a quite large object and more crucially hold onto it. These tools are invaluable for when some bright sprark, (usually me) drops something somewhere that using a magnet is very bad, like with older computer equipment. Always handy to have around and this one is pretty strong considering it wasn’t excessively expensive.

It’s pretty good. I had something stuck behind a drawer in a sealed unit, but managed to retrieve it in about 5 mins. The last 3 inches of the pole (where the claw is) isnt actually flexible at all, but it’s still small enough to fit in tight spaces, and it still did the job. There are no instructions on how to put the batteries in - but you unscrew the handle end, and you pop in 3 x LR44 for the light to work. I found once I’d unscrewed it, I had to take a little black plastic tube out first otherwise they don’t fit. You put them in with the flat + surface facing upwards. But the claw mechanism will still work without batteries anyway. All in all, a nifty bit of kit.

Bought this to grab something that other couldn't be reached. Did it's job has great flexibility yet keeps it shape once set. Has been used again already. This time the magnetic end came into use and also used the built in light. I think this will used several times, glad I bought it, it will save the skin on your arm.

This item is very sturdy and has led function. Ideal for my needs as I have used this around my engine and have also retrieved and item I could not reach in the grill of my car. I have used this as a swab holder to clean very hard to reach places my hands could not fit into. The spider claw at the end is by far the best I have come across. If it grabs something it will not let go until you release it. Anyone that uses the LED function may at first think it to be a little dull but the light is behind the claw and inside the tubing so if you push the claw out to grab it becomes much brighter. I will find this unit very useful in the future and the way it is built it will stand the test of time in my opinion. It’s slightly short and the size was not easy to see on the ad. Did not have batteries supplied.

Very pleased with the grabber. It is flexible, magnetic, has a light, and fits down small spaces. The actual grabber arm opening is quite small but seems to be strong.

Not as much flexible stability as the previous one that my partner lost but good bit of kit grabber, magnetic with tiny light.
