We love this thing
Color laser printers get a bad rap as far as printing anything beyond simple graphics. With decent photo paper, I've gotta say, I'm really impressed with how well this prints photos, as well. Sure, it's not quite professional quality, like you can get with a good inkjet on photo paper. But it's WAY better than I expected, and really plenty good for the rare situations when we want a photo printed. And other color graphics/images look as fantastic as hoped/expected. Even on normal laser printer paper, you can print off nice color graphics for kid crafts or embellishing hobby projects, and they come out really nice. While it's true that most people don't NEED a color printer, it's been a more useful and fun luxury than we anticipated. And while the cost-per-page is going to technically be higher than say an ink tank inkjet printer, this is an overblown concern for many/most people. The (relatively small) difference in the cost of the printer itself might justifiably matter to some. But the cost of toner vs ink is only going to be significant if you are regularly printing a LOT. What matters more to me -- and I suspect many people -- is that (like any laser printer) this sucker NEVER DRIES OUT. You can go a month between printings if you want, and it doesn't matter! You don't get sideswiped by clogged nozzles when you just want to hop on really quick and print something. You don't have to go through cleaning cycles and spew out tons of ink and use up paper. You simply print stuff when you want to, and it just works. It starts printing pretty quickly, too, within 15 seconds or so for the first page. I don't know why I saw at least one other review claiming it took much longer than that. I'm glad it has an ethernet connection in addition to the WiFi option. And the little color touch screen, while not necessary really, is kinda handy sometimes. So far the toner economy has been phenomenal. Even the skimpy starter cartridges lasted way longer than I expected. Again, it all comes down to your print load. If you're pumping out hundreds of pages a day, yeah, you probably want to look elsewhere. For a typical home load, I maintain that this thing is amazing.

bought because I don't use printers often and inkjets clog
Brother HL-L3270CDW Compact Wireless Digital Color Printer with NFC, Mobile Device and Duplex Printi At less than $300 this printer is, in my opinion, a bargin. This printer is ~40 pounds, but the box arrived with barely any damage via USPS (pleasantly surprized). Print quality for fonts is sharp. Print quality for pictures and images may not be as well defined and posibly over saturated (I didn't calibrate). I printed a artist's rendering of a girl meeting a young deer, in a forest, and the face of the deer was dark and lacked definition. The whole print was over saturated and didn't look that bad, but wasn't true to the picture I had downloaded from deviant art dot com. I don't think I am allowed to upload the print due to (c). The toner will likely last years based on the fact that I don't print much, but if it were an inkjet I'd need to buy new ink every few months I wanted to print a form, map, evelope, letter, etc... 'cause the inkjet heads would dryout and clog. Duplex printing is a plus! My previous printer was a Brother Inkjet, and I liked the ease of use, and quality. I recommend this printer if you're not using it for photographs, or to print nice pictures, but why would you use a laser printer for that?! I paid full price for this product and received no compensation for the product nor review.

O BROTHER -INK: IS A RIP OFF
I am a long time Brother Laser Printer user and i kind of like the quality of this printer. However, the Ink is insanely expensive $380 for the Hi Yield Color Multipack ...that is more than the cost of the printer! I am kind of used to that from Brother, however, this 3270's "Tone Counter" shuts down the printer when it decides the printer is out of Toner... however, the Toner Cartridge was at about half life... what is the use of spending almost $400 for Hi Yield Toner -when the printer refuses to print with it?? I literally have to throw away a half used toner cartridge because the Printer wont function at all as it seems to know the what cartridge it has been using (secret Serial number only the printer knows -ha!) - this is a huge waste ... The must be $200 of Toner left in these cartridges and the printer will brick itself until i replace it with a brand new cartridge -nefarious! RESETTING TONER: yes I have tried to reset the toner count and was successful a couple times, then after that -even though the printer says I reset the cartridge -It refuses to rest the toner count...and the Printer STILL WILL NOT PRINT. I have seen some greedy printer companies in the past ... but this one is the worst! Brother Dishonors its loyal customers .... seriously, i have spent thousands of dollars on OEM ink from Brother and to have this thing brick itself on big print jobs in the middle of the night makes the printer unreliable...as the toner counter dips rapidly it makes it looks as though the printer uses ink at an insanely fast rate - this nefarious programming in the OS of the printer makes this Printer Uneconomical, and Unreliable -as it uses Toner like a 1970 Pontiac uses gas -it goes from hi to low level at an unreasonable rate. On the Good side, Print quality is pretty good...and print speed is mediocre (compared to a similar brother printer that suddenly died 6 month ago... yeah... why the heck did that one just up and die? One day it was working the next time i tried to turn it on...it was dead... It really looks like planned obsolesce and serious disappointment -in a product that could be way better if this company wasn't so greedy ... I have always paid full price for INK and Printers and trusted the OEM and bought by mail order ,in trust of this OEM... Looks like I will look for an alternate Printer company in the future

I've been using the Brother HLL3270CDW Wireless Color Printer in my home office for several months, and it has proven to be a valuable asset for my day-to-day printing needs. Setup and Connectivity: Setting up the printer was straightforward. The wireless connectivity is a standout feature, allowing me to easily print from multiple devices, including smartphones and tablets, without any hassle. The Brother iPrint&Scan app enhances the ease of use, offering convenient options for printing and scanning. Print Quality: The print quality for both color and black-and-white documents is impressive. The colors are vibrant and consistent, making it suitable for printing graphics and small-scale marketing materials. Text documents are sharp and clear, even with small font sizes. Speed and Efficiency: The print speed is commendable, handling high-volume tasks efficiently. This is a significant advantage for anyone with regular or bulk printing needs. It's not just fast but also relatively quiet compared to other printers I've used. Paper Handling: The paper tray has a good capacity, reducing the need for frequent refills. It handles different paper types and sizes well, which is a plus for a variety of printing tasks. Cost-effectiveness: While the initial cost of the printer is reasonable, the toner cartridges can be a bit pricey. However, the high yield options for toner do offer better long-term value. The printer's energy efficiency also helps in reducing operating costs. Design and Build: The printer has a compact and modern design, fitting well in small office spaces. The build quality is solid, as expected from Brother. Limitations: It's worth noting that it's a single-function printer, so if you need scanning or copying capabilities, you might have to look elsewhere. Also, while the color prints are great for documents and presentations, it might not suffice for professional-quality photo printing. Overall: The Brother HLL3270CDW is a reliable and efficient choice for anyone in need of a color printer for home or small office use. Its ease of use, quality of prints, and speed make it a worthwhile investment, especially if your primary need is document printing.

I bought this product a few days ago and am very happy with it. Since I use Linux Mint, not every product is suitable. However, this printer works "out of the box". There is nothing to install. It just works. In addition, the communication and service were excellent. I am very happy and would like to expressly recommend the product and the company.

Brother HLL3270CDW Wireless Color Printer This is one of the most cost effective color laser printer on the Amazon market. At the time of review it's a sub $400 ***laser**** color printer. !!!! I think the only one I can find on Amazon market that's a bit cheaper is one from Lexmark. I chose this because of the fact I can get third party color toner for a fraction of the cost of OEM. This tremendously reduces cost of ownership which is a huge deal when it comes to color toner. The Lexmark laser just didn't have as ubiquitous a market for third party toner replacement. I couldn't find any . So from longtrrm cost of ownership perspective, this Brother beats the Lexmark easily. This is a really large printer . You need a good amount of desk space to hold it. It is also fairly hefty with the weight. You need a good stable desktop to hold this up. Installing wifi or wired is preferred choice as it leads to easier placement and PC and laptop and phones can easily access it around the house. I chose and prefer wired connection for most reliable network access printing. For legacy, you still have the usb connector. Printing from your phone is a no brainer too. Download printer app on android (and apple) and it's so easy to reliably print a doc from your phone. The printer is ultra fast and quiet when printing. It has a low fan noise of course but from older laser printers I have including older brother lasers, this model seems to be significantly quieter when operating. Pages are crisppppppp. Text is sharpppppppp. Lines are smooth like pro print lab. Colors are vivid as well. It helps to have good paper quality ultra white 25 lb laser paper. Does it print photos? Sure... But don't expect photo I lnkjet quality prints. I have a Canon Pixma pro series for photo print which is far superior to this . But for quick photo prints for small draft work or kids school usage, it's ok. I'm really impressed with this . If you're looking for a daily printer that's easy to justify with your wallet that prints fast and crisp, and cost of ownership is really budget friendly for a color laser, this one is easy to recommend.

I have been a slave to ink jet printers for decades and finally got fed up with their expensive, short-lived refill cartridges. This is my first laser and I am loving it. The ink will last for years and will never dry up because it's a powder, won't clog any heads (there are none!), and it prints like a dream. Very clear and precise results. I am totally pleased with this one!
