Problems with the USB Cable Driver
The USB Cable driver may be impossible to install successfully. It will appear to install, but as soon as you connect the cable, the warning about and USB Device Not Recognized and an Error 43 in the Device manager with no COM port being created in the Device manager. This means you can't use the software to update the firmware should that become necessary and all of the radio programming needs to be done by hand on the radio. You may be able to install it by temporarily disabling the device driver signing recognition as I did shown in the photo attached, but it will not always work. The seller is working diligently at trying to get Anytone to solve this problem.Addendum 3/8/2019: With the help of a friend, we figured out the wires in the programming cable where incorrectly arranged and the cable is being replaced by the vendor. In addition, I have news from the vendor that an improved version of the driver is on the way and will be posted on the web site. I can't say enough about how responsive the vendor has been. Every time I called and asked for technical support the phone was answered immediately by a person and he was always helpful and attentive. Once the cable was fixed, there were no more problems with an unrecognized device in Windows 7.

Very rugged, insane battery life
Purchased this rig from BridgeCom Systems. Quick delivery (a day early, actually) and their YouTube videos are amazing. It comes with a 3,100 mAh battery which - with normal service - lasts me 24 hours. Yes, you read that right. 24 hours. This radio blows away my previous DMR radio - the TYT-2017. Of course, the '878 costs about $50 more, but it is well worth it. You can't go wrong with either the AnyTone 878, or with BridgeCom.FYI - I'm not affiliated with BridgeCom Systems or AnyTone. Just a really satisfied customer!

Excellent Radio Packet with Features
This radio has so many features. I've had it two months and haven't even scratched the surface on what it can do. DMR work perfect as well as analog. Got to have a Windows OS to program it. Linux with Wine couldn't do it. Battery life is excellent.
