Still Crazy Sharp After Almost 2 Years – Worth Every Penny!
Love, love, love these knives! After returning a few sets, I finally found a winner. I’m so impressed that I just ordered a set for my sister, which is why I came to give them a 5-star review. These knives stay crazy sharp and feel solid and heavy in your hand. One piece of advice: Even though they claim to be dishwasher safe, I recommend hand washing them to keep them looking their best. But honestly, that’s a small thing to me. Highly recommend!

Great Knives for Everyday Cooks
I am not sure where my paring knifes escaped to over the years. Recently, I realized that I was struggling with alternatives when cooking. I prefer a very sharp paring knife and intended to purchase one 3 inch. When I found this set of two with white handles. I purchased them and, Wow, they are sharp and I believe the white handles will not peal. I also like the way white is easier to see in my cooking utility drawer. It's very handy to have two sizes, small for peeling and longer for other uses. I recommend these knives.

Great Quality Super Sharp Knives
This an amazing set for the price! The knives arrived well-packaged in the factory box. Each knife was covered in plastic, and the blades were covered with cardboard. The block looks great and is very solid and hefty. I like the color and finish of the wood and the contrasting metallic plate covering the knife slots. The block's angle is shallow, so it takes up more depth on a counter, but it feels ergonomic when pulling or replacing the knives. These knives are like big razors, and cutting through vegetables and meat takes very little force or effort. I now confidently cut incredibly thin slices of tomatoes without the tomato being smashed and spilled out on my cutting board, like with my old knife set. The built-in sharpeners for most of the blades is a great feature! I've ruined more knives from using bad sharpeners or bad sharpening techniques than I'd like to admit; having it built in and set to the angle of the blade means these knives will have a long life. My only minor complaint is that the Santoku blade is 5 inches and feels much shorter than I'm used to, though it (like the other knives in the set) slices through everything like butter. It feels tiny in my hand compared to similar but longer versions of that blade I've used. Beyond all that, I get a good laugh every time I pull the chef's knife out because it makes that `sching` sound you hear in movies. I'm pretty sure I've chuckled every time I use that knife. Overall, and for the price, this is a great set to give as a gift or as an upgrade if you're using a cheaper or older dull set of knives.

For the money, spot on!
Purchased the Forged Accent 15 piece set. Great value set of knives. No these are not a thousand dollar set but for under two hundred they are very nice. Be aware the description here has several combos listed and the 15 piece forged accent set does not include all of them. You will get: 8” Chef, 7” Santoku, 8” Bread, 3.5” Paring, 8x Stamped Steak, Shears, Sharpening Steel, and Wood Block. The shears and sharpening steel are junk. There are “forged” steak knives available for this line but they are not included in the full set for some odd reason nor is there a set available with them, they must be purchased separately. I put quotes around forged because the Henckels site says this line is technically “welded” forged, which means they weld the forged handles on and then polish out to make it look like a traditionally forged knife. 2 of the 3 “forged” Henckels lines are made this way. Still a very nice set but be aware. If they start breaking at the seam I will update the review! Engraving on blades states German steel made in China not sure if that means German formulation or if they are really sending bulk stock material to China for manufacturer. All in all though, the value for money is there. I would say these are level 3.5 knives out of 10. With 10 being the best most costly professional knives and 1 being the cheapest box store set. That 3.5 level is more than most people need though. Great weight, very sharp out of the box. One crack in the plastic grip spanning from a rivet on one of the knives out of the box. Says dishwasher safe but no nice knife should ever go through the dishwasher unless you plan to replace every couple of years. These should easily go a decade if you care for them properly. As always, let the knife do the work or be prepared to sharpen frequently. If you are frugal but like nice things this is the perfect compromise.

Good knives require maintenance!!
They appear to be well made and they are sharp out of the box. I see so many reviews saying they rust - any metal will oxidize or corrode in harsh conditions. Even stainless steel. Following the care and use instructions will minimize this. I have Henckels that are 30 years old and some of them have loose grips and tiny flecks of rust on the edge - I sharpen them and start cooking. After use, rinse the knife and wipe on a towel. I don't mean after you are done for the day - I mean when you're done chopping onions. Rinse and wipe. Use it again then rinse and wipe. Then leave it on the counter to dry before putting it in the storage block. Putting a wet knife in the block enough times will corrode the knife and create mildew in the block. Yes it takes some extra effort but doing so will assure years of happiness with your knives. Don't EVER put ANY knife in the dishwasher - doesn't matter if they are "dishwasher safe" or not. A dishwasher will trash a knife quickly. I too wonder, as others have, how they make these knives out of "German Steel" in China. But I look at the price point of these compared to the price point of knives manufactured in Germany with "German Steel" and justified the $200 for this set as opposed to the $800 for true German craftsmanship. I don't have to impress anyone but myself. These knives are an investment. Take care of them and they will take care of you.

Perfect!
There are some things Germans do the best: throbbing "haus" music, brewing beer that's flavorful but not "heavy", and occupying perhaps the worst starting spot on the "Risk" gameboard among them, but knifework is definitely up there! These things slice. These things dice. And they do it all with a very sensible efficiency that makes everyone else's perfectionists look intellectually lazy! Definitely recommended.

Razor Sharp, Durable Knives from Trustworthy Henckels
What a fantastic set of knives! I can't say enough good things about them! For years I used a cheap set of kitchen knives because I just didn't want to spend the money on a decent set. After using these, I wish I had taken the plunge sooner. They make prep work a joy! Henckels makes a few less expensive sets but they're not forged, which was a deal breaker for me. This was the least expensive set of forged knives that I could find, and they did not disappoint. They are just the right weight and feel solid in my hands. They are razor sharp too, I've never cut with anything like them. Plus they're dishwasher safe. The only 2 knives missing from this set that I wanted were a non-serrated utility knife and a bread knife. For the price though, I am happy. I was able to buy this set now and can add those two knives later when I can afford to. Highly recommended!

Not a lifetime product!
Late Jan 2025: Upon opening the box I was very disappointed to see that one of the steak knives had a rust spot. I contacted Henckels and they promptly sent a replacement knife. Fast forward to September 2025, all the knifes are handwashed so when I discovered that one of the steak knife handles was starting to crack, I was thoroughly disappointed. Here was a product I had hoped would last a lifetime, instead of disintegrating within a span of 8 months. It's not as if these knifes are used on a daily basis! However, the company's customer service team once again stepped up and provided a set of knives to replace the bad handle one....BUT it's not the exact style! The 3 stars are for the customer service team not for the product. Product gets 2 stars.
