It gets rid of little black flies
We were plagued with little black flies which we traced to compost in indoor plant pots. Read up a little and this seemed to be the best option. Easy to use, you literally just mix it up and water the plants with it. The outcome was an instant lack of little black flies. Highly recommended

Not quite what I was looking for
Easy to use but didn’t quite clear the small ‘fruit’ flies that were becoming a nuisance at home

You had one job.
The life cycle of the sciarid fly is about 2-3 weeks. I have sat with this product for 4 weeks to ensure that at least one life cycle has passed at the time of writing this review.I can report that this product does nothing to suppress sciarid fly when used as per the product directions. Several of my pots have the instructed 1cm of 'Zoot Off' and yet the fungus knat problem persists. Indeed several of my worse afflicted pots have 2cm in them to provide an extra thick dry layer with gaps so small you'd think a knat could not fit and yet they persist.Fungus knats are quite happy to run around atop, inside and under 'Zoot Off' and thus it does nothing to inhibit their life cycle. There are other things to consider with 'Zoot Off' even with its failure to prevent sciarid fly infestation, which is its primary goal. It is a rather attractive looking mulch by itself for those looking for an alternative to pebbles or barks, which may be too large for certain smaller plants or pots. However it should be noted that one major flaw with 'Zoot off' as a mulch is that it appears some of it is somewhat buoyant, while other bits are not. Which is an issue come watering time, as your mulch will float atop the water added to your pots. This has multiple disadvantages, firstly it displaces your mulch leaving gaps in the surface that must be corrected after watering. It also means that, should your pot be filled to within a few millimetres of the lip, you will find your 'Zoot off' running out of the pot and onto the floor or shelf where your pot is located. This is because 'Zoot off' stays very dry. This causes your water to pool atop the 'Zoot off' that is not buoyant in a manner similar to a flash flood thus carrying to buoyant particles atop the water and out of your containers.Be forewarned that should you choose to use 'Zoot off' you will find your fungus gnat problems persists and you will have an obstacle to your watering unless you keep the mulch layer noticeably below the pot rim by a good 1cm or so.

Stinks
The smell is overwhelming. I really wish I hadn't spread it over my plants now as will be horrendous to remove. The smell is making me feel physically sick.
