Fits great in my bolt action Savage. The sleeve opens up and uses Velcro to insure a good fit on just about any standard rifle stock. The sleeves that hold the shells, fit the .223 very nicely. Easy to get the shells in and out. There is a flap that covers the shells, which keeps them dry and is extra insurance that you don’t lose ammo. The only disadvantage of the design is that the flap that folds over the shells is held closed by Velcro. This could be a great disadvantage if you need a silent follow up shot. They need to use magnets instead of Velcro. All in all, it does what it does, very well. It fits well. It does not interfere with shooting. I will be buying a couple more for my shotgun and another hunting rifle. Highly recommended!

Purchased one last year to try. I purchased 3 more this year for the family. Allows ammo to be stored with the rifle during transport. Allows you to carry extra rounds.

This is the first of it's kind that I've found that works on my Encore stock. It works and it works very well. Well designed, and well made.

Put it on my Henry Model X fit and functions perfectly. Keep your powder dry!

I really like these shell holders, BUT. If the hook and loop that secures around the butt stock were 2 3/4" wide rather than 1 3/4" they would fit every gun. As it is they simply wont work on many rifles. With that simple modification the complaints should stop. Too little time went into research by manufacturer. Please pass this message forward. Thank you. I had to add a 1 1/2" pc of velcro to make it work on a stock savage rifle. I shouldn't have to modify a thing like this. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHEN THIS GLARING DEFICIENCY IS CORRECTED, I WOULD LIKE TO BUY SOME SERVICABLE AMMO HOLDERS. Update: Tired of modifying this junk product!

Pros : Price, initial quality, graphics.Cons: needs to be a bit longer in length if you are looking to use with any kind of cheek riser.Will stretch to the max and very little velcro is holding if used with cheek riser.

This is a good ammo pouch. The cover is stretchy and waterproof fabric. It holds the .243 (or .308 or 7mm-08 or .338 federal or 8.6 blackout or 260 Remington or whatever) ammo nicely. No visible signs of wear after a single hunting season.
