Ceramic Knife - 7 Inch Ceramic Chef Knife - Mirror Finish

I really wanted to like this knife because it's cost effective and attractive. Admittedly, it was sharp, however, the short height of the blade caused me to cut my finger as I grasped the butt of the blade between my index finger and thumb. If they want to call it a chef's knife, give it enough depth to be handled like a chef's knife instead of like a carving or slicing knife.My bigger complaint is the feeble durability of the blade. By the end of the first weekend, I had 3 large nicks in the blade and by the middle of the next week, the blade was useless as it was missing more than 10% of the edge due to chips. I only use it to slice foods that oxidize after contact with steel (e.g. basil, potatoes, apples). I've been cooking for 20+ years and have taken numerous knife skills classes, so I'm qualified to say that I utilized this knife safely and correctly. I should be able to expect it to not knick and crack up and down the length of the blade. My cutting board is a heavy maple, end-grain Boos Board, so there's no way it should cause this damage and I hand-wash and immediately dry ALL of my knives, so again, no reason for the damage.Save your money and either buy a higher quality ceramic knife. My other 2 ceramic knives have held up beautifully, though they each cost in the ball park of $50.

I have other ceramic knives that I bought at a big box store as part of a set. This knife is longer, making it more versatile for me. Until this one, I use the shorter ones which worked great, but having another inch helps.The finished is excellent. The blade arrived in perfect condition and the handle is a very comfortable rubber design for even small hands. Depending on how you normally grip a knife when you cut, it seems to with different grips I tried.I'll update once I've used it more, but so far so great.

Knife looks great, glossy finish, well balanced, great in hand. But... It has poor sharpening. Blade is about 2 times thicker than in Kyocera chef, sharpening angle is much bigger and by feeling it takes about 3 times more efforts to cut comparing to Kyocera (and other good ceramic knives). So for me it's a waste of money. I need to cut, not to enjoy visually

I am surprised it would not slice a loaf of crusty wheat bread. Does well on vegetables. I wonder what the real price of this knife is. Also does not say where it is made - China? The case I am supposed to keep it in is flimsy cardboard. Shipping was perfectly fine.

I chose this knife because of the guarantee and the brand. It is a beautiful piece and quite sharp. Loved the knife itself. However, I returned it and am giving it 3 because it has no protective sheath which seems strange for a ceramic sharp edge which is delicate and dangerous.

Very sharp. Unfortunately, the tip of the blade broke as I was cutting chicken. I contacted the the seller who rushed me out a replacement knife ASAP. Keep in mind, it is ceramic, not steel. You can't go chopping through drywall of other crazy stuff that you might of been able to do with other knives, but in regards to the edge, it will do the trick on any boneless food you need to cut. Happy customer.

I am returning this product. I purchased 4 knives to give as gifts to my aunts in the Philippines. It is not sharp as I expected. It is not worth the price. This product will make you cry because it would even not cut a tomatoe in a single knife pass. The Faberware 5 inch-ceramic knife which I bought from Walmart is way way sharper and better than this one. Readers beware!
