We love this communication head set! My husband and I love to chat while we ride. Plus, this helps us let each other know if there is an obstacle in the road or where we are if we are out of sight of each other. We ride with a cycling club too and we have used it to help other riders. If the riders get separated, one of us can stay with the lead group and the other can ride back to look for the group that fell behind, then report on their status. Sometimes a thousand feet range is all you need to see that the group that fell behind is just around a corner stuck at a stop light.

Bought a pair of these so that my "stoker" and I could communicate more easily while biking on our tandem. Best decision ever. Really enjoy being able to talk at low volume (almost at a whisper sometimes in no-wind conditions) to share observations and announce intentions for turning, coasting, passing, etc. Took a little trial-and-error to get the Bluetooth intercom function working (apparently the iPhone app is required for pairing, but that's not mentioned in the owner's manual). Nevertheless, would highly recommend. Love the fact that these are dust- and waterproof and do not cover the ears (most organized group rides forbid headphones while riding for safety purposes, but the Terrano XT is off-ear so does not get sweaty or block ambient sound). A great product.

We love the Terrano XT communication system for cyclists. More than 7 years ago, when the company was called CARDO we purchased their product called CARDO BK2. We used it hard and rode across the country. Eventually, after 5 years, they wouldn’t hold a charge for our long rides. So, we upgraded to the new TERRANO XT. What a huge upgrade. The battery life is superb, the communication is crisp, Bluetooth enables me to answer a phone call, wind noise is minimal. So, why the 3 stars and not 5? Their customer service is TERRIBLE! After 2 years one of our units would not charge at all. It was a gradual failure to charge over the course of a few weeks. I initially blamed my husband that he wasn’t plugging it in properly. I contacted TERRANO about 6 weeks ago to see if anything could be done to repair it. I know there is a one year warranty, but I was prepared to pay for a repair if it was cheaper than a new unit. I received an email reply stating they had initiated a work order and someone would get back to me in 48 hours. Well, six weeks later, and several more emails (no response) I’m still waiting. I cannot find a phone number on their website to call anyone. Eventually, I bought a new one because we like it so well. In the meantime...I wait with the unit that won’t charge!

My wife and I use this to communicate with each other on our tandem. It was the best solution I've found -- and I've tried 2-3 other systems. The hands free voice activation worked, the ambient wind noise was manageable and it was awesome to have the headset connected on the helmet vs. hanging on your ears -- much more comfortable on a long ride. I also used riding my single bike to listen to podcasts -- much safer than in ear solutions because I can hear the ambient noise. Only downside was a few minor bumps getting it set up physically and connecting -- but over super happy with product

The item is top quality, but the instructions are virtually useless. They provide you with other sources, so I went to the YouTube site, but my version wasn’t the version on YouTube. I was unable to get the intercom to work, which is the entire reason why I bought them, so they are going back.

This product really deserves a detailed review that I’m not going to do. I will just summaries the important things I have found. 1-Sound Quality is excellent, far superior to anything else I’ve used. 2-Connecting is usually painless, but once in a awhile it’s very frustrating. 3-Battery power is not an issue-it will never run out on you. 4-Directions are misleading, but eventually you figure it out. 5-My biggest issue with it has been how it works during phone calls. Basically it doesn’t, although once in a while It will function correctly on a call. This is why I gave it 4 stars, otherwise I’m very happy with it.

When we finally got them to connect it was awesome. Even though they are allegedly paired, they would have trouble finding each other. Then suddenly one wouldn't turn on unless it was plugged in, and then would stay on only for a minute. I've tried several times to reach customer service, I only need to replace one, I'm not asking for a new bike or anything. Basically it's a frustrating helmet crowder at this point, but I loved it the brief period in time when it worked.

I bought two: one for my wife and one for myself. We use them as an intercom while riding. They are very effective to quickly announce obstacles, pedestrians or have a conversation. The sound quality is outstanding. The manual that is included with XT is not completely intuitive. However, the online manual is more detailed. I'm surprised how many functions these have: 4-way intercom, FM radio, share audio, take calls, etc. We are only now using the intercom and taking calls from my phone. I highly recommend these for the husband that appreciates his wife riding with him.
