Does exactly what we need
It was perfect for our use case. Installed easily and was easy to seal with silicone.

Fit so-so
I searched high and low for the appropriate mounting block my 3-in. siding. After buying one of these and testing it by holding it up, I bought two more. But when installation rolled around there were gaps I hadn't noticed just by holding it up. My electrician did caulk the one on the side of my house because it's exposed, but under the garage overhang we didn't bother. Still, it's better than using a mounting block meant for taller siding or none at all.

Ring doorbell siding mount
I used this to mount a ring video doorbell to 3" vinyl siding. The ring.com doorbell is designed to be mounted on a flat surface This solved the problem.
