Functional and practical steel filter
UPDATED: After almost a year my filter has held up to almost daily use. Several of the spot welds on the bottom have come loose, but it’s still holding on.For reference, my process is to use a 64oz glass mason jar and this filter. I place the filter into the jar, pour the grinds into the filter, add filtered water, shake it up, and let it steep overnight in the refrigerator. The next day I lift and drain the filter into the jar, remove the filter, and then pour the new batch of cold brew through a paper filter into another container. Unfortunately, my grinder makes a lot of dust that ends up as sediment, which my family members find unappealing.Pros:- Fits well in a 2-quart wide mouth mason jar.- Easy to clean- Has lasted almost one year of regular, daily use.- It’s much more durable than a plastic mesh filter- There is mesh on the bottom of the filter, which allows it to drain well- Is more convenient option over dumping grinds directly into the glass jar as it allows for me to easily remove the grinds, which go into my composter.Cons:- The mesh is thin and flexible, be VERY when careful handling it. Some people have commented on its fragility. It’s not a rolling pin! Imagine holding ripe raspberries when you clean it.- Some sediment does get through the filter, but I always filter a second time through paper filters into a larger container that stays in my fridge.- Several of the spot welds have come loose in less than a year.

Great product and this is the way to brew coffee!
I bought this Zell cold brew coffee filter well over a two years ago and I have been using it regularly ever since. I love this filter because of the ease of use and how easy it is to clean. As mentioned in the description (or possibly another review), it is best to use a coarse coffee grind as it will not leave any residue. If you use fine coffee grind, your last one or two coffee you make out of it will really taste bitter and you will have a fine powder in those last 2 coffees as well. Although I have been using 2 filters regularly, so far they have held up very well. You can tell the mesh is more flexible than before but still no rips in it or anything that has come undone. I use it with mason jars and they work great. Please note that the mason jar will not close all the way and it make leak some coffee concentrate if the mason jar is overfilled with water. You quickly learn the proper amount of water to put in. I would say you get 28 to 30 oz of concentrate from a 32 oz mason jar and filter. All and all just great.Fast shipping and great product! Cheers!

Good filter, use gently to prolong its life
This is easy to use and cleans up well in the dishwasher (it's a bit hard to hand wash). I gave it four stars because, after 1.5 years of weekly use, it fell apart. The top ring separated from the mesh and the seam on the mesh itself started to come apart as well.I did repurchase one, since overall I think it's a good product and given the amount of use, it held up pretty well. With my new filter I will try to lift it, when it's heavy with wet grounds, by the mesh itself instead of the ring. I'm hoping this will lengthen its life.

This cold brew coffee filter is awesome & makes great coffee!
I just bought this cold brew coffee filter & I love it! My coffee turned out so delicious! I have made traditional hot brew coffee with the same coffee beans & the taste of cold brew is so different -- definitely tastes like something I would drink at a coffee shop.I chose to buy the filter as it was reasonably priced & I already had the 64 oz mason jar which fits on my fridge door, so this was perfect. I ground my coffee beans in my Vitamix making sure that the grind was slightly coarse. I found that all of the ground coffee was filtered by this fine stainless steel mesh.I chose the larger filter even though I only plan to make 32 oz of coffee every week as the filter can also be used to make sun brewed tea which I plan to do in 64 oz. batches. To make 32 oz.of coffee it took 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee beans as shown in the instruction. Then cold brew in the refrigerator for 24-36 hours and then remove the filter & enjoy!I washed this filter in my dishwasher before I used it. I recommend washing in the dishwasher as I could imagine that trying to scrub the filter might damage it. And the dishwasher easily gets to all parts of the filter as it is a bit deep.I highly recommend this cold brew coffee filter. I will update my review if I have an issues with it in the future.

Simply amazing. Works perfectly with the wide-mouth 64oz
Simply amazing. Works perfectly with the wide-mouth 64oz. Ball jar. There's been a lot of cold-brew methods I've tried, this one is the most clean, effective and simple. It's a very fine mesh, so you have to be careful when cleaning and handling - but you'd do the same with anything else that requires a little respect. Fill with coffee grinds, half-fill the Ball jar with water, lower in mesh filter, continue filling jar through grinds (slowly). The absolute best part is the lid and screw-top fit perfectly over the mesh filter. Rather than have to make a mess stirring, you can shake the actual jar! Cold Brew came out perfect and delicious - this is now my go-to method for making cold brew coffee.

Good try. Needs refinement.
Neat idea and fair price, but I would not have made the insert so long. It fits a 1/2 gallon Mason jar well but doesn't need to go almost to the full length of the jar. You don't need THAT many coffee grounds to make 1/2 gallon of coffee.Just bulky to use and harder to clean. The screen looks good but is not rigid. Must be handled with care. VERY EASY to crimp and deform. Almost impossible not to.I would have made it with some sort of SS "exoskeleton." I wish someone would design something like this with a bottom to screw off so it is easier to remove the coffee grounds, which are something you don't want to wash into a sink. Thanks for reading.
