This is the easiest way to catch flies. You can hold it over any insect . When it flies up into the mesh just push the side button and they are a goner.

However, it does not kill the fly. Just zaps them. You have to really electrocute the fly, one zap just tickles it

I purchased this product to replace our older electric fly swatter. I use it all the time, but it was time for a replacement. This product was rated so highly that I decided to purchase this as my replacement for my existing electric fly swatter.The item says it comes with it's own AA batteries, but they were completely dead when we received them, so we had to replace the batteries with NEW AA's (legit - the included batteries must have been 20 years old). The battery housing is a bit tricky to remove - it's a solid fit, but nothing a flat head screwdriver or butter knife couldn't help with.The only thing I don't like about this item, which is different from my old one, is that once charged, a fly has to touch BOTH THE INSIDE METAL AND THE OUTSIDE METAL AT THE SAME TIME for it to zap. This may be hard if you're dealing with anything smaller than a large horsefly or wasp. The only way we've gotten it to zap is to put a metal knife (WITH A RUBBER/PLASTIC HANDLE BY THE WAY) inside the screen and touch the middle and outside wires.Overall, the item sort of works as advertised, so I can't complain too much. The metal on the outside is very sturdy and the item is very lightweight. Hopefully over time, I can hit stuff and soften the outside metal so it's more flexible, and will touch the inner metal easier - allowing for better effectiveness.

This is a Great product. I've had several other brands, none of which compare.

I barely got it a week ago. It arcs to itself and sparks without any bugs in it. Not worth the 20 bucks, the 5 dollar ones I got 5 years ago still work great. The included picture shows it arcing to itself but it's hard to capture a spark.

Works ok but wish I didn’t have to hold down the button the whole time. Maybe just have an on off

I bought this with the intention of using it on larger flying bugs like mosquitos and flies. But a fruit fly invaded my house this week so I had my first chance to try this out. After installing the batteries,I pushed the button. A little light on the handle lights up to let you know the power is engaged. It is completely silent. It took me a while to get the little bug. He was small enough to fly right through the scatter, so I wasn’t sure if I was missing the fruit fly. Finally, I got the little critter and there was a tiny flare when he hit the electrified wire. Poof, he was dead. I cannot wait to try this on a nasty mosquito!

I have an older model that works really well, but we wanted a second one. This one is so much better and more powerful than the first one we got! Definitely worth the purchase!
