NIV, Thinline Reference Bible, Bonded Leather, Burgundy, Red Letter Edition Bonded Leather – April 2, 2011

I believe this is a very desirable Bible for several reasons and I keep a few on hand as gifts for those who are beginning to express interest in God. What qualities do I like? First, the NIV (and NASB) translations are accurate in today's English. The goal of the serious Bible student must be comprehension, just as in any other study.Second, it has a limited concordance to help locate verses and has a few maps, but doesn't have a commentary, which is good. Familiarity with God's words instructs us that real Christians listen to him, not to what people interpret him as saying (see Isaiah 2:22; Psalm 146 & 1 John 2:26, 27).And third, this is a quality product in the material sense, so if given as a gift, the recipient doesn't feel they were just given something to satisfy an obligation. Yet it isn't expensive.

The leather is such a good quality and quite sturdy, and the shiny gold edges are a really classy touch. There is some margin space to jot notes, prayers, and thoughts as you read. The pages are very thin, so it might not be suitable for a young child that isn't used to handling delicate pages and books. The NIV is one of my favorite versions to read cause it doesn't use the really old English but it also doesn't over-simplify it either. It is a really good balance of our English language, and easy to read and relate to for both my children and me.

I ordered this bible, thinking it was just like my old Thin Line Bible. It is SMALLER causing the print to be smaller. If you are wanting to order this Bible, do what I did not do....check the measurements first! And if you are like me, wanting regular print, but, are borderline needing large print, you may want to order large print. I have it three stars just because I feel I wasted my money, and that's my fault. I guess it's a nice lightweight size to carry to church. Even if it will be a strain on my eyes.

The Bible itself is good quality, but while looking through it I noticed that the Bible has a huge flaw. The pages jump from page 886 to page 919. The book of Matthew ends and then jumps straight into chapter nine of Luke. No rips, or evidence that the pages might have fallen out. Doesn’t look like they were ever included in the printing. Must be a mistake but is awfully disappointing.

This bible was just perfect, it really came in handy for all the studying I have to do. I strongly recommend it to anybody looking for a bible to start of with. Would have gave it 5 stars but the only problem with it is that you can't really highlight, it bleeds through. Other than that it's a really great bible.

This is my first leather bible, I was so excited when it arrived, the bible is absolutely beautiful.., perfect size, cover is very soft, the burgundy color almost looks brown. But most important the font size is very readable, and God's word is in not a bright red, but a beautiful burgundy red..very pleasing to the eye..I have not started studying my bible yet, but I feel I made an excellent choice with my NIV Reference Bible.

I bought english text Bible and was disappointed over a british text. After I started looking, this Bible exceeded my expectations.This is a must-have! Really nice leather bonding, page edges are covered in gold paint.Also, pages feel nice to touch, font is big enough for comfortable reading and Jesus' phrases are marked red.I cannot other than recommend this product literally to everyone.

I absolutely love this Bible and it's turned out to be all I expected in terms of feel. The leather cover is brilliant and is very flexible.It is already rivalling the "iGadgets" as my preferred choice for church meetings.
