So far so good (one month). I installed this on an outdoor deck that is on the ocean front. No matter what brand (I have not used Bybon before), they all have failed after a few years. But at $10, if this one fails, I can by two more for the price that I pay elsewhere. Build quality is excellent. I actually took one apart to compare to a big box store and they look identical. There are two lights on the front. Green and red. The directions are very clear as to what the lighted colors mean when they come on. I will update this review should anything change, or if it makes it past the average fail time.

Lots of problems with this product. 1.) It is huge. It completely filled one side of a standard two gang box. No room for additional wiring or twist caps behind/around it. Especially given the size of wire for the rated amperage. 2.) The slots in the heads of the terminal screws are too wide and shallow. None of my phillips would engage, and only one of my standard screwdrivers, and that only barely. The result was that it was VERY difficult to cinch down onto the wires, which kept popping out. There wasn't room around the screw shaft to hook the wires either. 3.) One of the screws was stripped. They all arrived screwed down too tight, but that one just spun stiffly in place.I wasted too much time trying to get the thing in a box that already had a couple splices in it, then having the wires pop out, out of sight. I finally gave up when I realized that one screw would never open to get the wire into the back. I'm sending it back for a Leviton slim line. Meantime, I have a standard outlet wired and hanging out of the wall. Grrr.

Ok, just address a couple of complaints I see in other reviews. First, there is nothing wrong with the screws on this receptacle. They use the hybrid screws (flat/phillips/square) that are common in the electric world. Do like the electricians do and use a square drive bit. You'll have no issues and can get a good clamp on the wire (which should be inserted in the back of the receptacle, not wrapped around the screw). Second, while they are much safer, tamper resistant receptacles are a bit tricky at times. Just angle the plug side to side if you have trouble. Don't force it straight in.

Only three month after installation, I tested one outlet. It tripped, but can never be reset. showing a red light indicating the end of service life. 0ne out of three failed in three month. The labor cost to replace one is in the $100 range, even I can replace it, but still it is $100 worth of labor. 2 years warranty does not mean much it they do not cover the replacement cost, which nobody does.

Would be fine but the little tamper resistant doors won't slide properly when trying to plug in stuff. In fact they were so hard to access that they got damaged by the plug causing even more difficulty if not impossibility to plug something in at all. JUNK. MAN. won't do that product again. Ever.

The product came quickly (I live in Hawaii so its a big plus), it is a good quality product, I like that it came with a wall plate with screws and "GFCI" stickers for labeling outlets.The only minor things to note:The 12 gauge wire is hard to get on the screws (with pigtail/loop) and the outlet body was hard to get into a small outlet box because ofthe size.I will be buying more from these guys again!

Good price. Nice unit with LED. Just what we needed for an outdoor receptacle. Easy to install with holes to receive wires that are subsequently secured by turning a screw. In other words, you don't have to mess with looping the wire around a terminal or putting spade adapters onto the wires. Nice.

Works well, pretty easy and straight forward to install. Included screws could have been stronger as they started to strip. Outlet filled the box very full and didn't leave a lot of room for wires to be tucked behind. A deeper junction box would have made the installation easier.
