QSC RMX1450a Stereo Power Amplifier

Needed to replace a QSC 1400 at my church, so I stepped up the wattage. Very good choice works great love the sound easy to install.

This amp is very heavy and has a heavy startup draw when it is first turned on. My monster power device sees a significant drop in voltage when it is first turned on but it balances back out after a short while. The factory settings as they are preset; lacks sensitivity as in. You seem to get low volume per watt out of the box however, you can tweak this on the back panel with a small non-conductive tool. The sound reproduction is very accurate and clear. It has good mids and average low end. This amp is great for full-range systems that are stationary or a well built professional amp rack with wheels. It is much too heavy to be carrying around without one. If you are going to be moving this amplifier a lot I recommend purchasing the warranty anything this thing hit is going to either damage the unit or whatever it hits. Not recommended for beginners; it's too much of an investment to experiment with. Overall it has the power to be worth the investment. If you want something with better power and less weight I recommend a CVR amplifier that has less weight per watt ratio.

I needed an amp for my Church. I did want or thought I needed to spend this much money on an amp. But someone that knew better than I strongly suggested I get this one. So glad I did. Just what we needed.

Great product for the money. I'm in the market for another QSC amp, the next one will be RMX 2450A. The fan is a little noisy.. not bad. That's an easy fix tho.

This unit came damaged from the manufacturer. I don't know if it was a return that was shipped to me as new but it didn't work. I don't even know what was wrong with it. There was a dent like someone had opened the case up and switched the insides out. The music sounded terrible from this unit. Buy it from a reputable source. You know you can't buy everything from amazon. Repurchased from sweetwater and it was fine.

Certainly makes my BFM Tuba30 sub pack a serious wallop. Not too much else to say here, since I haven't had a chance to use the bridged mode yet, and I handle all filtering and crossover stuff in my driverack. But it certainly puts some power through my subs, that's for dern sure.

Got it for the sale price so that was good. Sound quality seems fine but according to QSC it is supposed to have a continuously variable speed fan. That implied the fan speed would increase with temperature and would stop or run at lower speeds when idling or at operating at very low output level. Well what a surprise! That fan seems to run at full speed full time as soon as you turn power on, even with with no speakers connected!! The fan is so loud that you have to be 20 feet away for the noise to be acceptable. I Googled for quiet fans, only to learn that any such attempt would result in voided warranty. To me they should stop advertising the "the continuously variable speed fan..." thing on their website as it is misleading, to say the least. They also should let people replace the stock fan without automatically voiding the warranty. It would be nice if they say something like "if the fan is replaced with a different one, QSC would reserve the right to void the warranty if they find the cause of failure is due to overheating", but would still make the repair at a cost, or something like that.. Until then, I would recommend this amp only if you can place the amp far away from you sitting position.
