Kali Linux
There is some incorrect information that all my young pen testers need to know about this Alfa card. this card is indeed the Alfa AWUS051NH v.2!!!!!!!!! this product depict's the original Alfa AWUS051NH but this is indeed the "v2" its the second version of this card that has a different chipset. This v2 Alfa card has the "Ralink 3572"... this chipset works with kali in the 5ghz and 2.4ghz wireless ranges. you will have to do a little tinkering to get it to work flawlessly in the 5ghz range so do not jump right back on amazon and start posting bs about this card not working with kali linux because it 100% works in both 2.4 and 5 ghz ranges in monitor mode, packet injection etc. I added a pic so you can see that this is indeed the v2. Hope i helped some people!!

Good device, beware of the instructions
I have to separate my rating of the product, support and documentation. The device is well-made and works as advertised, although the antenna that came with the unit is not nearly as powerful as the Alfa 9dBi optional antenna which I also purchased. I recommend buying both.I had a question and emailed the company, and they got back to me on the next business day. Also very good.I have a MacIntosh, and while the web site clearly states that this device works with Mac or Windows computers, as far as I could tell the CD in the box is useless with a Mac. I figured out I needed to download the driver zip file from Alfa's web site (figured this out when I was watching Youtube reviews of the gadget). Without that I'd have been lost. Once I installed the driver, the little gizmo started working without any router magic incantations from me.The company has a nice product, but they REALLY ought to include a note in the box to Apple computer users saying something like "Ignore the CD in the box. Go get download xyz from our web site". That would save some perplexity. If they'd done that I'd have given the device five stars instead of four.

Dominate the airwaves
This might be one of the best, if no the best, consumer-grade wireless adapter that you can get on Amazon. Signal reception is amazing. Especially with the foot-long antenna that comes with it. There is also the option to use a small 4-inch antenna if you want, but with the long antenna, I can pickup the wireless signal 3-houses away from mine. That is very powerful. However, if you want to increase network performance, a better wireless adapter should be bought after upgrading the wireless access point or wireless router. Doing so would usually yield better results for all users. Are there any cons for the device? There really aren't any. I could only think of 2.1. It's expensive. (go figure)2. It doesn't support the newer 802.11ac standard. But, the device was made 3-4 years ago. So it would be unfair to count that against it.Also, if you want to try penetration testing for wireless networks, this device works flawlessly. Supports packet injection, monitor mode, and great native support for Kali Linux. Or, you can just buy it for the amazing performance.

The suction cup suck
I'd like to start off by reiterating the fact that, yes, THIS IS VERSION TWO 2. People have already been kind enough to confirm this but reinforcing fact can't possibly harm anyone.Anyway, the device itself is exactly as I expected (i.e. it does what it claims). Though, I will not be using the included cable or accessories because they are not 'to code', so to speak. Specifically, the suction cup mount point for the holder leave a lot to be desired. Specifically, suction. The suction cup suck [figuratively speaking]. I'm aware that surface matter, which is why I tried it on different laptop backings. It works very well on the smooth/soft-touch (faux?) carbon fiber surface that surround the keyboard on Dell's newer XPS models but I doubt you'll find a laptop using that type of material in a location where you would also want this holding 'cup' to be situated. Instead of wasting your time making it work reliably, find a proper solution. The device itself is a solid 5/5.

it is absolutely a superior card for amongst all of the ALFA 802
I ordered this card in September of 2017 at $49.99. That is the ONLY reason for not rating this product five stars. Four months later and the price nearly doubles!? WTF? As to the performance of this card, it is absolutely a superior card for amongst all of the ALFA 802.11 radios. Supports injection and does fantastic at monitoring in both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz ranges. The antenna features a small label that indicates its' ability to work in both frequency ranges but, with the exception of the label, it looks exactly like all the -7db antenna that come with most Alfa cards; this can be slightly inconvenient when traveling with multiple antennas of the same form factor. I would gladly buy more of these, but at this sharp increase in cost in such a short span of time is enough to make me save my dollars for elsewhere.
