Just okay
Was hoping to give my dog a little relief during runs in hot weather. That's what it does.Little relief. We run about 30 minutes, it's no longer cool when we're done. That's in morning temps of around 70°. Fit was good. Did seem to help a little. It's inexpensive. I think I may upgrade to some kind of cooling vest.

Working well
This is a pretty "cool" product and it seems like it will hold up for some time. I've noticed that our greyhound, who is quite sensitive to heat, is faring better since we started using the Kool Collar. He moves more quickly when wearing it and and isn't opposed at all to putting it on. My only complaint is that the gel pack melts very quickly--in about 10 minutes. So you may want to order the "refills" and keep them in a cooler for long trips or heat exposure. We haven't yet filled it with ice, but it seems like it would work well.

Poor quality
The collar itself is fine, but the Kool tube insert for freezing is horrible..I froze it one time and 3 of the cells broke open and leaked all over..I can only use ice in the collar, not what I was looking for.

Good product
This works well for my older Lab/golden cross. I use the ice cubes when I take her outside to do her business & the tube insert when she's inside and seems to be having difficulty cooling down & for an hour or so at bedtime. It definitely serves my purpose.I gave it a four-star rating because it does seem to be quite flimsy. I don't believe that this collar or insert would withstand a great deal of usage. I also wouldn't recommend it for a highly active dog, as I'm not sure it would work that long or hold up all that well. For an older, more sedentary dog, I would definitely recommend this product.

Useful in the desert SW.
We live in Arizona and this collar makes life tolerable for our Australian Shepard in June July, August and September. The frozen coolpak lasts about 30 minutes in the heat around sunset when we walk. Its not so great that we would walk a black, furry dog earlier in the day but it does help.

Hate it
Too Cheesy, the cooling mechanism is just a tiny freezer pack that will melt immediately or you can put ice cubes in the collar. Useless as they will melt immediately. Why not use the gel that expands and be able to freeze it.

Life saver!
This allows our 14 year old Pit Bull X to enjoy being outside in the summer and not have to sit inside and miss all the fun! She has always had a problem overheating and now that she is older she can barely stand to be outside in the summer but with the Kool Collar she can enjoy the summers again. Best part is the Kool tubes because you freeze them and then the pups can wear the collar inside without making a dripping mess, for outside I just fill it with ice cubes so she can wear it for as long as we are outside. The kool tube's last about 1-2 hours indoors before you need to change it out, we ordered an extra two tubes so when she is wearing it indoors by the time she is on the third tube, the first is frozen again.

Helps our English Bulldog with the heat
The gel packs last about 15 minutes... just enough for our bulldog. We DID notice a difference while he wears this. He doesn't pant within 5 minutes like he did prior to wearing it. It will not stop him from becoming overheated but for a short time outside it IS helpful. The lettering wears off on the color quickly (which is no big deal) but the nylon itself seems to be staying strong. We have had it for a couple of months now. We did not buy extra gel packs since the original is still holding up. We used ice cubes but as they melt it soaks his chest of course and he started to scratch to get it off. Went back to the gel packs. We are very happy with this collar and have suggested it to friends with a boxer and they also said it helps a bit.
