The whole team uses it!
I have read reviews from parents who end up with several kids from their teams using their son’s bat. We have had the same exact experience with the Rawlings 5150.We bought the it last year for our eight-year-old, coach pitch little league. Since then it has endured three seasons of not only him hitting, but also his six-year-old brother. Regardless of that use, it has withstood several seasons and hundreds of hits without so much as a ding. We are now at the point that there are a total of five players using his bat every game. Most of these guys are the main sluggers on the team and they love the ping and how the ball seems to jump off the bat.I love this bat so much, I just purchased the 29 inch drop 11 for next season from Amazon (for only $52!).Well worth the money and definitely five stars!

Great bat for the price
My son is 8 and plays travel ball on a 9U team, we purchased the 28 in 17 oz Rawlings 2019 5150 USA Youth Bat, which is an evenly weighted bat that allows a nice straight swing without any wobble (there might be an official term for this, but I'm referring to when the kids swing and you can see the bat kind of bouncing in the air because the weight is oddly too heavy towards the end of the bat)...he's been hitting well, as are his teammates when using this bat. Obviously it doesn't have the same pop as some of the composite bats, but honestly it's pretty close! I've been seeing this bat with many other travel teams and little league teams as well, and it seems to be good for most using it!! I almost never write reviews but wanted to share this great buy!

Great Bat!
I purchased the 27" 16 ounce bat for my 7 years old son who is playing 8U kid pitch travel for the summer. Although it weighed in at 17.6 ounces, he has had consistent contact, it has good pop, and is the appropriate length. Our previous bat was a 26" and 15 ounces t ball bat. So by purchasing the 5150 we increased the length by 1 inch and weight by 2.6 ounces. He seems comfortable, no bat drag. For comparison, we also purchased the 2018 Solo 618, 28" 17 ounce, which is also a great bat that weighed in at 17.6 ounces, the same weight as the 5150, but 1 inch longer. My son liked swinging both bats equally, but it appeared the 27" length of the 5150, which is 1 inch shorter than the Solo, made him control the bat better as I saw more consistent contact.

Great Bat! Got this to replace our Easton S650
Exactly what it was supposed to be. Great bat. I went with this bat since our Easton S650 cap came off and when I reached out to Easton corporate they were not helpful and would not refund or exchange for another bat without a receipt. I bought the Easton bat right after they made us switch to the USA bat. I had the Easton S650 for less than a month and the cap popped out. Absolutely, no abuse and no reason for the cap to pop out. My kids barely hit any balls with it since it was the beginning of baseball season, they just didn't have it long enough to use it much... Of course, I did not have the receipt, so I was out of luck according to the Easton customer representative. The bat was supposed to have a 1 year warranty. I realize that I didn't have the receipt, but at the time the "USA Baseball standard" version of this bat had not been on the market for 1 year. The USA Baseball standard just started, so why wouldn't the 1 year warranty by itself work? I tried to explain this to Easton, but they didn't care. No more Easton bats in our house!! Its a shame, I grew up playing with Easton bats, but my kids will be using other brands.

He’s hit in every game since…
My poor boy had a bit of a shock when he was moved from tee ball to the pitching machine this season. He went from being a reliable hitting all star to not even making contact. We were told he had to have an USA approved non-tee ball bat with a 2 5/8 barrel. So not knowing much about bats I run down to the nearest sporting goods store and get the only USA 2 5/8 bat available. I noticed there were not many choices in that size but was happy thinking I got the best one. After watching him struggle I realized the weight really matters for a small 6 1/2yr old that can barely hold the bat up much less swing and make contact with a ball flying 38mph at his face. His new bat was 18oz and going from a 12oz tee ball bat that was a huge difference. So I started researching and hunting for the lightest bat with a 2 5/8 barrel. Unfortunately, I did not have $300 to purchase the newest and lightest (13oz) bat on the market. I found this 2019 Rawlings 5150 that was 26in and a drop of 11 making it around 15oz with a way more reasonable $50 price tag. So he had to play another game with his 18oz bat and miserably strike out until the new one was delivered. The first game he played he struck out first at bat but the next go around something clicked and he got a double. After that he has had a hit in every game since. He is not where we want him to be in the spring but he is building his confidence and muscles as he carries this bat around. If you have a struggling hitter that is new to the pitching machine check the weight of the bat. If it’s too heavy he won’t be able to swing it fast enough. When I ask my boy what he likes about his bat he says that it’s lighter in weight and it’s squishy where you hold it. The grip tape has cushion in it which makes it easier for him to grip.

Great Bat Great Price!!
Got the 29" drop 10 and my 11yro son loves it! Went to the batting cages to test it out and he sent those 40mph balls flying! We then headed to his 10U game and he hit every single time he went up to bat! When it hits the sweet spot the balls go flying! Great pop too! This bat definitely increased his range and he's only used it in game play once. Definitely recommend this bat to start perfecting your swing! Super Proud mama right here!!
