Great Laptop
The laptop is perfect! no scratches or dents, all the keys work and the touch bar is amazing. I will say the battery life is a bit short but that’s expected for an older laptop. I was a little scared at first because of some of the reviews but it’s super fast and over all definitely worth the money in my opinion.

scam. save yourself the headache & heartache
scam. the laptop was defective , had knick’s and chips in it , kept shutting off making me loose my work until it shut off completely on me with my apple id and social , credit cards, passwords, photos etc.. on it. and they wanted me to return it with all my personal information on there. and when i explained my problem to the seller he just kept copy and pasting the same message to me over and over again about the 90 policy and 30 day refund which did not help in my case. and since this is a 3rd party seller, amazon told me they can’t do anything about it unless it was returned which i dont trust it being returned with no passcode on the laptop basically insinuating they would have full reign to do anything with my sensitive information. they should really update who responds to messages because no matter what i said, the same copy and paste message about the policy would be the reply they send me even when i told them that’s not helping. i even asked were they listening and clearly they weren’t because the same message is throughout our entire seller-buyer conversation. this is frustrating as i used this laptop for work and it has sensitive work information on there as well as i do property management. so not only would my info be leaked but every community we manage as well personal information will be leaked as well. i do not trust this seller at all. i would stay away. and i dont even write reviews typically. this is the first ever problem i’ve ran into while using amazon. i’m in disbelief right now as i thought they had better policies in place. and to the seller ; you need to do better and stop scamming people. if your products are defective STOP SELLING THEM. it’s not like it $2.00 were spending , it’s HUNDREDS of dollars going to waste on these products people assuming are working.

Worth the money! Wasn’t aware of year, but it’s still newer than my guesses.
Just got my Mac today and absolutely love it! I’ve been wanting a Mac for a while and sold my iPad to get this. Doesn’t come in Apple box, but it comes bubble wrapped and with the charger. Not an Apple charger but it’s still works for the computer. No scratches, no cracks, no issues starting it up and syncing everything. There was no specification on the year of the MacBook on the Amazon ad for it, but I can confirm it’s a 2018 which isn’t at all what I was expecting so it’s newer than I expected! Love it!

Defective even at the highest price
When I received it I was given a charging brick that would NOT even plug into any outlet I had so I ended up using my iPad brick. It finally turned out but I instantly noticed battery issues the second it was at 15% or so and it would jump up to 40% randomly then back to 15% or even less or just a tiny bit more in the 20% range, after trying to even log into my iCloud account, the laptop would just be in an endless loading loop so I never managed to log into my iCloud account. In addition to all of this the laptop would randomly just shut off (more battery issues) which is when I just gave up on it completely since no matter if it was plugged in at all times, it would randomly drop to 0% and die on the spot with minutes long wait times to boot back up again, some other issues were in the keyboard, the “n” key would have to be pressed deep to type the letter or it wouldn’t budge at all, same thing for the spacebar. This purchase was a complete waste of time, even at the highest price of $440~ I basically just bought a useless piece of junk laptop that can not function at all.

Everything looks fine, except battery life
I’ve been using this mid 2017 MacBook Pro (256GB, 8GB RAM) primarily for studying, browsing, and general day-to-day tasks. The laptop performs very well during regular use—it's fast, responsive, and I haven't experienced any delays or lag. While I haven't tested it for video editing, it’s more than sufficient for university work and light browsing. Touch bar works good too.The Retina display is good, with great color accuracy and brightness. The laptop feels solid overall, and the opening mechanism is really smooth—not flimsy at all. As for charging, it charges quickly, but the battery drains just as fast. Under regular use, I’m lucky if I get 2-3 hours before needing to recharge. It drains even faster under heavier use, so keep that in mind if you’re planning on using it for extended sessions. The laptop stays relatively quiet during use—there’s no noticeable fan noise. I haven’t tried all the ports, but the ones I’ve used so far work fine, and the laptop came with its original certification. The charger is in good condition, looks great, and functions properly. As for software, it came with macOS 10.8.2, but I did update it to macOS Ventura 14 on the app store, which is the latest version supported by this model. If you’re looking for a more up-to-date operating system, be sure to update to Ventura, as it's the most recent version available for this machine.
