We have an electric furnace that is very expensive to run in the current frigid temperatures. I was hoping to augment our furnace with our wood burning fireplace that was wired for a blower, but didn't have one installed. I assumed this blower would move enough air that at a minimum it would run us out of the fireplace room once it got going. Not the case. I can barely feel air blowing out of the top grate. I've now improvised a box fan above the top grate and am able to keep the first floor of our house around 65 degrees with only the fireplace going (see picture) with outdoor temps in the single digits. My wife says it looks redneck, but according to my math, it'll shave $300/month off our electric bill if we run the fireplace all day. I'll be a redneck for $300/mo.I will say the blower was very easy to install. It took me longer to replace the 2 prong electrical outlet (with a grounded 3 prong) than it did to install the blower. I just thought it would have moved more air. It does put some some clean (non-smokey) hot air just above the fireplace that can be moved more with another fan.

As others have said, the fan is extremely loud and barely moves any air. It cannot hold a piece of toilet tissue against the intake vents.It did fit however and was easy to install.

Comes pre-wired. Easy to install. Works well. Just a bit noisy but pushed air well and helps hear the room.Satisfied purchase.

Fits ok, placement is critical or the fan is quite noisy.Output is dismal for my fireplace.

This fan hums to the point that you can hear it two, three rooms away. It’s not the fan humming it’s the transformer.

I received the blower quickly and was pleased with the quality. I did contact customer service via email and they were very responsive. When I tested the blower mechanism outside the fireplace it moved a good deal of air. I have some air restrictions in my particular fireplace, for instance in the middle of the back of the fireplace where I had planned to place the blower, but it is moving air up the back and out the side of the top vent where I placed it. All components are working properly. I believe this blower is quieter than the original blower which is placed so that it cannot be accessed without disassembling the fireplace. The most difficult part of installing this replacement was working the blower through the narrow space available--take your time.
