VERY smooth, darker roast
I discovered the BROWN GOLD brand while shopping in an Office Depot one year. They had the k-cups on clearance, so I took a chance. It was some of the best coffee I've had. Their Brazilian roast is no exception. I'm not a big fan of medium/dark roast coffee, but wanted to give this one a try. It's not my favorite, but as far as dark roasts go, it's VERY smooth. No bitterness noted and low acidity. If you like Dunkin Donuts/Donut House type roasts, then you'll probably really enjoy this. I bought it ground so I can have the option of using it in my Keurig and my husband using it in his drip maker. The best of both worlds!

Good Coffee at a Good Price
Edited review of the all Colombian. I made my first pot too weak. Since then, I have enjoyed this coffee, which has good body and that wonderful all-Colombian flavor at a very good price. Here's the big secret I discovered about coffee brands: Duncan Donuts Dark is the same coffee as Folgers Gourmet Lively Columbian. The price differential at my local supermarket runs as high as 100%. Look at the labels. Both come from Smuckers in Orville, Ohio. Enjoy.

Woth it for mer
Local supermarket stopped carrying this brand. They only could suggest looking on line. Found it here for a greater price, but can't get it anywhere else. We tried other brands, but were just very disappointed. Bought five bags at once to get free shipping, and we go through a bag in about 2 to 3 weeks. Will definitely reorder. Never thought I was a coffee snob and probably am not. Have tried grinding beans myself, but can't get it to compare with this all Columbian brand. The company used to be owned by Tetley Tea of Boston, but now seems to be owned by a company out of Texas. Quality has stayed the same, however. Yes, it is pricier than other name brands though less so than others, but worth it for us.

A decent brew but seemed a bit off.
I have tried varied grinds, amounts, and have adjusted brewtime and temperature trying to get the most out of this coffee. The brew was certainly earthy and had a pleasant (albeit weak) aroma but just didn't deliver for me. I hate to say it but it tasted "dank" and weak bodied at its "best" even with a finer grind and longer brew time. Larger amounts yielded a cup too bitter to choke down. I'd drink it again and be satisfied but I doubt that I will purchase it anytime soon.

the Brown Gold 100% Columbian is the best canned coffee anywhere
Bar-none, the Brown Gold 100% Columbian is the best canned coffee anywhere. Even better than most "boutique" coffees. Purchased the (1 lb) can in the supermarket for many a long time---more than 30 years. Couldn't find it anymore in retail stores early this year; a couple of years ago--after holding out, I guess, as long as it could BG reduced the can size to 11.5 oz. So glad to find it again online. These online coffee bags are 12 oz and just as delicious. Lot's of coffee-bang for your buck.

Maybe thats a bad thing, because it loses some of its freshness ...
not any more special than any of your local corner special roasts. Okay, so its from Africa! Maybe thats a bad thing, because it loses some of its freshness and quality flavor that is so hyped by my millenial self importante associates. I wasn't so impressed as I have tasted coffee the world over outside our borders.

It smells like you average Maxwell house or Folgers
Its ok, nothing else. When you open the bag, the first thing that hits you is the lack of aroma. It smells like you average Maxwell house or Folgers. However, I have to admit, it doesn't taste like those brands. It's a decent coffee and is on the mild side despite its "bold" advertisement.

Brown Gold - Thumbs down
I bought Brown Gold coffee for years. It came in a 16oz can but was reduced in size not too long ago. Then it disappeared from the grocery shelves. Tho the packaging is different I thought the coffee would be the same. It tastes different and I did not enjoy it.
