love them
i know this is weird but my eyes can get really sweaty then vent works great also my eyes are deep set and they block out the sun in the right way and i am left eye dominant and right handed so i put the dark lens on the left and the yellow on the right and that helps a lot it is a great buy

Nice but not practical
I purchased the ESS V12 for a seven month deployment to Afghanistan. The novelty of interchangeable lenses seemed great. Actually changing the lenses was very difficult, and I simply left the tinted lenses on. During periods of intense heat the elastic band absorbed sweat and dust, and became uncomfortable to wear. The black protective cloth was also a sweat and dust magnet and required weekly washing with water. After two months of use the nose bridge broke, I was initially upset over this bit it turned out to be quite useful. The break between the lenses made them more flexible for stowage. After the third month the constant cleaning caused the protective coating to start flaking away. I stopped using them and switched to regular sunglasses. The clarity and protection (UV and from sand and dust) was superb and top notch! If you plan to purchase the ESS V12, do so with knowing that the lenses are difficult to change out, the band and case are easily soiled, and the hard plastic can break. I would use this product only during sand/dust storms. I hope this helps.

Good product but needs some tweaking.
I really love the concept of these goggles but they have some issues. The venting is great. Having various interchangable lenses is nice although its difficult to change them. The rubber molding which seals the goggles around the eyes needed some 'home repair'. The area I had to repair was digging into my skin and after 3hrs of wearing the goggles they rubed my skin raw. I fixed this by using a heat gun, heating up the rubber and reforming the seal with a clamp. They fit really nicely now.I wear them fairly loosely and the head strap is already losing elasticity. I looked on ESS's website and can't find a replacement strap. I'd like a spare so when this one is useless (in a few months) I can replace it.

Too small
The goggle frames did not fit my face at all. They're curved for a smaller face (or I just have a wide face?) and were pretty uncomfortable. The lens replacement was pretty easy and quick but the fact that they don't fit and are uncomfortable is almost an immediate killer. Also, the goggles stick out pretty far from your face so it looks a bit awkward.

Nice goggles, not suitable for prescription eyewear.
These goggles are very well built; however, the prescription insert would bash your eyelashes, making them uncomfortable to wear. I had trouble with the prescription insert before, so I went ahead and ordered it (from ESS website) just to try it. ESS has updated the insert so that it now has a much thicker nose piece, thus it keeps the ICE shields far enough from the face that eyelash bashing is not a problem. However, these goggles are low profile, so there is no way to make the insert stand far enough away from the face that it does not interfere with your lashes. If you have good vision, these would be great, if you need a prescription look elsewhere.

They are good for the most part. Fog up when it's rainy and humid. Nice to have lens options.

Eye eye Captain!
Great product for +80°F or -35°F. These are my favorite pair.
