At the moment, the statistics functions are disabled by software for simplicity and convenience of working with the thickness gauge.

Q: Will this unit work on powder coated stainless steel? (i.e. 304, 316, 18/8, etc)

Yes. This thickness gauge will be able to measure the thickness of the coating on stainless slalis

Q: Can this item be used to detect lead paint on house surface by any chance?

No only metal backed surfaces. You’ll need a lead paint detection kit

Q: Will this work on painted lead? That is, will it show how thick the paint is if the metal underneath the paint is lead?

I don't think so. There are only calibrations for steel and aluminum.
