Carbonyl iron contains 100% elemental iron. Each tablet have 9mg Carbonyl Iron, which is equal to 9mg of elemental iron.

Is the only difference between this one and the adult version the dosage?

There are a few differences between Melt in Mouth for Kids and Melt in Mouth for Adults: 1. Content of iron per tablet. 2. Kids Iron is sweetened with natural monk fruit extract, a premium zero-calorie zero-fat sweetener, so even picky kids love the taste of these tablets. 3. Adult iron contains xylitol and stevia. 4. There are other slight ingredient differences which are listed on the label. Both iron products are free of fillers and unnatural additives.
