“Tweet Dreams Come True: Dr. Harvey’s Parakeet Fiesta!”
Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round the birdcage, for I have a tale to chirp—a saga of epic proportions, starring none other than the Dr. Harvey’s Our Best Parakeet Food!Picture this: a culinary masterpiece that combines the wisdom of ancient avian sages with the flair of a Michelin-starred chef. Yes, my feathered friends, this isn’t just bird food; it’s a symphony of flavors, a gastronomic delight that’ll make your little beak do a happy jig.Let’s break it down, shall we? First, the ingredients—oh, they read like a who’s who of the parakeet world. We’ve got Canary Grass Seed, which sounds like a VIP pass to the coolest bird parties. Then there’s White Millet, the socialite of the seed kingdom, mingling with Red Millet, its equally fabulous cousin. And let’s not forget the Oat Groats, the hipsters of the grain scene—organic, gluten-free, and always Instagram-ready.But wait, there’s more! Brace yourselves for the fruity fiesta: Mango Dices, Pineapples, and Papaya—it’s like a tropical vacation in every beakful. And the veggies? Oh, they’re the rock stars: Broccoli, Green Beans, and even a dash of Orange Peel (because why should humans have all the fun?). Your parakeet will strut around the cage like a runway model, flaunting those vibrant feathers. Now, let’s talk nuts. Not your run-of-the-mill nuts, mind you. We’re talking Brazil Nuts, Filberts, Cashews, Almonds, Walnuts, and a surprise guest—Macadamia Nuts! It’s like a nutty Oscars after-party, and your parakeet is the A-list celebrity. Paparazzi, take notes. And the pièce de résistance—the rotating buckle of this avian feast—the Hemp Seed! It’s the James Bond of seeds, suave and mysterious. Your parakeet will nibble it, then glance around as if expecting secret agents to burst through the bars. “Shaken, not stirred,” it’ll squawk. But what about the preservatives? Fear not, my feathered comrades. Dr. Harvey’s is like the Gandalf of pet food—no artificial anything, no dark magic. Just wholesome goodness that’ll make your parakeet’s heart sing. And the resealable packaging? Genius! It keeps the freshness intact, like a time capsule of yumminess. Now, let’s address the foraging behavior. Oh, your parakeet will forage like a pirate hunting treasure. It’ll dive into the bowl, toss seeds like doubloons, and squawk, “Avast, me hearties!” You’ll find little feathers stuck to the sides, evidence of a parakeet food rave. And the best part? The nutrient-rich profile that’ll turn your parakeet into an avian superhero. It’s like Popeye’s spinach, but fancier. Your bird will flex its wings, zoom around the cage, and maybe even attempt a loop-de-loop. (Disclaimer: Parakeets are not licensed pilots.)In summary, dear bird enthusiasts, Dr. Harvey’s Our Best Parakeet Food is more than a meal—it’s a passport to flavor paradise. So spread your wings, my little buddies, and embark on a culinary adventure. Bon appétweet!

Birds Love It
I feed my birds this along with Harrison's pellets and fresh fruit and veg (their favorites are mashed sweet potato that I eat with them, carrot greens, and herbs like mint and rosemary). But this is about 60-90% of their diet, depending on the day. They do not eat the fruit, veg, or nuts, or the chia seeds in this bag, but that still leaves up to 19 ingredients that they do eat. Which is more ingredients than I can get in most seedmixes. The vets always tell me how bright their colors are. I'm sure supplementing with sweet potato (rich source of vitamin A) helps, but I've had vets try to tell me any seeds = junk food. But they're healthy, energetic, and vibrant. When I first got the food I just had one bird, who was very young and only ate white millet. I picked the white millet and orange millet out and put that in front of him, and he braved the orange millet and loved it. Over time I got him to add canary grass seeds, and then oat groats. Now he'll even chew on a flax or carraway seed when the dish runs low (he flies around with them in his beak, chewing on them lol). Second bird also came only eating white millet but after seeing the first bird eat from the food dish he warmed up to it much faster.

Good quality budgie food.
And it smells good too. My budgies like it but there are some bigger pieces in the mix that my budgies don't eat (fruit I think?). Too big maybe.

Great food for great parakeets
This is our third purchase of Dr. Harvey’s parakeet food, and it lives up to its name. Our guys are 4 and 6 years old, and have never looked better! They seem more active and alert than they were with the brands we used to feed them—I think because those brands are mostly millet seed. Parakeets need a varied diet, and Dr. Harvey’s provides that. Recommend highly!
