Penguins (National Geographic Kids Readers, Level 2)

I bought 8 books as gifts— National Gro is quality so all books are the same as other comments. Very good, informative and interesting for kids. There are different levels that you can order,

This book elicited squeals of glee from the 5-year-old we gave it to as a gift. If penguins are your (or your kid's) jam, this book should be on your shelf. It's a relatively easy reader, lots of great photographs (obviously - it's Nat Geo!), and tons of little facts about penguins. It's something kids can pore over on their own or have a grown up read to them, and as they emerge as readers it's a great way to get started with a subject they love. Really high quality, a great size for kids to keep next to their bed or in a book bag, and informative. The perfect gift or read for any young school age child with an interest in nature.

My 2 year old LOVES this entire series of Nat. Geo Readers... I have purchased about 25 different titles, "pre-readers" as well as Level 1 & 2 readers. She loves them all & will ask for certain ones. The "pre-readers" level books are extremely simple & great because she memorizes the words & can "read" it herself. We love the more advanced ones too, because there is more information to talk about. I have learned quite a few facts, myself!) What a great series. The price is reasonable & pictures are great. These are really getting her interested in nature, animals & science... I will continue to buy these as they are released, for our collection!

All these National Geographic booklets are great for the youngsters. I have a 3 and 5 year old grandchildren and they like learning about the animals and insects. The pictures are incredible. And even I am learning new facts about the animals. My daughter in law is equally pleased with these booklets because she says it is good to read some non fiction to the children. She is a kindergarten teacher and can use them in her class. An all around great hit and definitely worth the price. I have purchased about 10 different topics and have never been disappointed.

Needed to find a gift for a penguin-themed birthday party for my 6-year-old granddaughter, and this was perfect. She can read some of it, and I can read the rest to her before we go to an aquarium in Boston to see real ones!
