Dog in Critical Condition
My dog had to have an emergency, very invasive surgery today and it was due to an accumulation of these nylabone products and their debris. Please reconsider buying these for your dog. I hope this company reevaluates the quality of their products and I hope no one has to go through what I just went through with my dog.

A veterinarian's perspective
My dogs' favorite Nylabone shape. It lasts for months. And for anyone who gives a hoot for a veterinarian's opinion, here goes: Nylabones are fantastic chew toys that scrape tarter, improve oral and gingival health, and occupy a dog's desire to chew. The caveat is that anything hard enough to wear down slowly over time is hard enough to break a dog's tooth. So, if you want to feed bones (anything hard, really), be ready to deal with broken teeth. If you don't want to deal with broken teeth then ONLY give incredibly soft items to play with or chew on. And if they shred/swallow soft items, be ready to have objects surgically extracted from their intestine. In summary, there is no perfect chew toy that cleans teeth, occupies their activity, can't be swallowed, and never causes broken teeth. It doesn't exist. Choose your risks based on personal preference. I, myself, prefer to offer Nylabones and see many of my clients dogs with better dental and gum health because of them.

For Power Chewers; don't break into dangerous shards and chunks
Our 3 60lb dogs share this bone along with other Nylabone Dura Chew Bones. Other chews that are less tough wouldn’t last a Day at our house, not to mention some of the other also-rans that we’ve tried are down-right dangerous, and can easily become a choking hazard. I highly recommend this style of chew for dogs with strong jaws and that love to chew. They are hard to destroy for some of the toughest/strongest jaws, so they last a while and give us more for out money. I have been using this type of Nylabone chew for several years with several dogs, with only positive results.

Happy dog on her 4th nylabone so far :)
I get the "wolf" size wishbone for my 12lb shih-tzu/terrier mix. It's obviously, hilariously too big for her, but she loves it soooo much and she can still carry it around and manipulate it with her paws while chewing it on the ends. I like getting the extra big nylabone because it's easier for me to supervise her chewing and make sure she doesn't choke on little pieces, which worried me with smaller bones. The bigger bone lasts much longer since she's not a strong enough chewer. After about 6-12 months when I notice the little ends beginning to fray and lift, risking to break off and cause choking, I know it's time for a new one. The time for a new one just depends on how much she's been chewing! She's on her fourth one now, and I'll happily buy her more on the future. She loves them! Hours of fun chew time! Very happy dog, very happy owner.**I do recommend that you supervise your dog and get to know their chewing habits and chewing strength, so that you get them the appropriate size and know when to replace their nylabone. Dogs love to chew, but keep them safe with supervision and replacement as needed. :)

HAPPY BABIES
NYLABONE POWER CHEW WISHBONE DOG CHEWWe have a five year old Greyhound, Kisser, and a rescue from Hurricane Maria Whippet/Heinz 57 mix, Diego, who is ten months old. Kisser enjoys a good chew and our Diego the puppy boy? Everyone knows how puppies enjoy a good chew. This wishbone keeps him from sticking his mouth on our furniture, pillows, papers, anything in the house that looks interesting to him, which is everything! This bone is good for dogs up to 35 pounds. It is for extreme chewers. It helps fight boredom, keeps teeth clean and freshening doggie breath. It also helps discourage destructive chewing. The wishbone design is different and interesting to both dogs.NYLABONEs are veterinarian recommended and best of all, made in the USA. That is very important to me.These bones also come with a satisfaction guarantee -- if you are not satisfied, return to NYLABONE for replacement. How good is that? The product is fantastic, the price is right, and these bones bring hours of entertainment to your little doggie babies.

It's kept up and I can see it lasting for a while instead of a few minutes like he's other toys
I was a little hesitant to buy this product just because of the hard material it's made out. Wasnt sure if it would be too hard on my 17 lbs mini labradoodle's teeth but he's a very aggressive chew and I was desperate. It came just in time. He had destroyed the last remains of his last toy the night before. He absolutely loves it! He's a lot more calm now that be has a toy that can keep up with his chewing needs. It's kept up and I can see it lasting for a while instead of a few minutes like he's other toys.

Excellent toy for power chewers!!
My dogs are a 25lb Boston Terrier mix and a 50lb Pitbull, and I had to buy a second one because they love them SO MUCH!!! They are both powerful chewers and these are holding up great!!! Their 2.5 lb chihuahua sister has no interest in them, but she doesn’t like most toys so that’s no surprise. No gum bleeding, no pieces coming off, no issues.

Mega Chewer Approved
I'm repeating this comment here because I purchased several of these toys for some heavy chewers. They're great for them to chew on (they haven't demolished any of them yet, and they have tried). Only drawback, they hurt like a son-of-a-gun when you step on them barefooted. This style seems to be the favorite toy out of all I've purchased. My daughter rescued two medium-sized dogs (one is an Australian Cow dog mix, and the other a Plott Hound mix). The Plott Hound mix has jaws of steel and destroys anything and everything he can get his mouth around. This is the only toy brand I've found that he doesn't demolish in under 5 minutes. Oh, and I'm stunned he can put bite marks in the product. The Rodesien Ridgeback didn't even do that when he was a puppy, so I was surprised. However, that being said, the toy is holding up to hours of abuse.

Strongest chew toy yet! Now updated review
Great biting toy. My little guy is small but he is systematic, methodical and highly competent in destroying, de-stuffing-fying and eating most chew toys or there. I've tried all major brands and this one together with his antler have stood the test of time. It doesn't splinter and bits don't break off. It 'frays' and in theory even if he swallows it it should be passed out from the back end. We've had it a month and it's the longest surviving chew toy we have.Update: We were delighted with it but recently, we noticed some blood on the rough edges of the toy. We checked his mouth and noticed some scratches on his gums from the rough surface. Running my fingers over the chewed surface, it does feel hard and sharp and perhaps the cause of the bleeding. There is no hx of dental issues. Unfortunately, we've chucked the toy and I've reduced the rating from 5 to 2 stars.

Please supervise
Our corgi girl broke her larger premolar on her left side (carnassial). We have a variety of nylabones for the different textures, including the hard white ones (suitable for all dogs according to description). She is a very well-behaved dog who only chews her toys, and when on walks, we always keep her by our sides within sight. Therefore, we were very surprised when a regular vet visit found out that she has a broken carnassial. She did not show any sign of pain, thus not ringing any alarm bells during supervision, and the broken tooth was only found because we asked specifically for a complete body check including teeth. Given that her hardest toy by far is a nylabone and she does not bite anything else, we are inclined to deduce the connection. While most dogs seem not to suffer from this problem with nylabones, there are precedents in forums.Hopefully one day nylabones will be completely safe toys. It was heartbreaking to remove an adult tooth from our corgi who just turned one not too long ago.

Pooch loves it!
This is now my dog's favourite chewy. She gets it every evening when she gets tired and gnaws on it as if it's her comforter. She a terrier cross and can she ever chew! This has got a bit sharp on the edges but it hasn't cut her mouth and she absolutely loves it. I got the brown bison one too but that's part of her Christmas present so shhhh don't tell her, it's a surprise 😁

Great value dog toy gets thumbs up from Teddy’s Indestructible Toys!
I recently bought this for my Bichon puppy. He can be aggressive when he chews. I got this to review on my you tube channel Teddy’s Indestructible Toys. I was really impressed how it held up compared with other toys of this type. This toys is also great value for money. Cannot comment of the chicken flavour although the packaging says it goes all the way through.

Sturdy but light, good for dedicated chewers!
Got this for my chihuahua mix because anything softer he will chew through in seconds, and it’s been really hard to find a toy that’s sturdy enough but not too heavy for him.So far, he loves it. It’s light enough that he can carry it around with him, he chews on it for hours without damage and he seems to really enjoy it.Another bonus is that it doesn’t smell like a lot of other flavoured toys he’s had, so that’s nice too.
