Intriguing reading
I like to meet Stone in this new book. One wonderful woman immediately replaced by another without any trouble from his side. And all of this at ridiculous background of law system of anyone know what’s it name of island.

Very good Stuart Woods
A very good Stone Barrington novel. Great plot plus a few unexpected twists. Just the craftsmanship one has come to expect from Stuart Woods as the Barrington series has and will continue to evolve.

Brilliant
Not sure how I missed this #3 in the series because I have read a ton of the Stone Barrington books. Mr. Woods has a knack for presenting the most unusual plots with twists & turns to make you not want to put the book down. This time Stone gets drawn into a situation where he feels the need to help a beautiful stranger on the island of St. Marks & it’s almost more that he can handle. I really liked the characters Lewis & Thomas. Not so much the prosecutor & Prime Minister although they are par for the course in some countries. Very satisfying book in this series. If you have read any of these books you know what kind of morals Stone has or doesn’t have. That’s all that needs to be said. These books can be read as stand alone but there’s always references to his previous cases & women so that ties them together.

Things that make you go hmmmm
So....another one with a few interesting twists and turns. Pretty good read, but I'm beginning to see a pattern trait with the main character and that doesn't impress me. Story was decent even though I figured out some things as I went along. Some predictably here. Overall, this one has me on to the next if for no other reason than you kinda have to....

No Elaine's, No Dino, Yeah, Great Book!
I have read four or five (I can't remember the exact number) of Woods' more recent books and they all pretty much average between two and three stars. I decided to take a chance of this older book. With the exception of seemingly ridiculous and numerous coincidences--that Woods loves to put in his books--this book kept me up at night as to see what was going to happen next. What kept this book from being a five star book was the aforementioned coincidences. Everyone seems to know everyone in this story. For instance (possible spoiler here) when a random reporter comes to the island to report on the situation, she coincidentally has heard of Stone Barrington (a regular cop/lawyer) from what was said about him in the press a few years earlier. Not only does she remember hearing about him in the papers, but she remembers every detail of his life. These types of coincidences happen frequently in this book, and this one in particular does nothing to further the plot. Anyway, with that aside, this is a good book. A lot better than many of his that I've read.I was also delighted to see that nothing happened at Elaine's and that Dino only showed up in the last few pages. I hate Elaine's and Dino.

Fun & light Suspense - Perfect for a Day by the Pool or the Beach
These are light mysteries - easy reading when you are at the pool or on the beach. Nothing too complicated. The lead characters, Stone Barrington (& his friends - Dino, etc) are likable characters with good personalities. They lead good fiction character lives, of course. With money, women, opportunities, etc. just falling into their laps on a regular basis. :) I would say that the leading man, Stone, who is supposed to be very smart, seems to have no qualms about jumping into bed with all manner of strange women at the drop off a hat. Even if he is dating someone else. His motto appears to be "love the one you're with" & love is not really the word. Ahem. You would think his days being a detective would make him a bit more cautious before inviting strangers into his life and his home but when it comes to beautiful women his brain seems to head south. Of course, then we wouldn't have half the story lines for these books. Still, they are fun reading and I hope Mr. Woods, who has visited my island of Sanibel several times, will continue to keep this series and characters alive. I am addicted to them now.

Loved it but….
I really enjoy the Stone Barrington series, however, there tends to be too much detail when it comes to flying, and in this book, sailing. I don’t want to read an entire page of flying or sailing jargon. We know that Stone is a pilot. There’s no reason to emphasize that in every book.

A story with many twists
An entertaining and inventive plot keeps the reader's attention glued to this story. The narrative is snappy and the characters are believable. A real page -turner.
