Something we don't tend to do in the UK is install insect screens... I don't know about you, but I hate getting flies in the house (and moths are even worse) so I'm not keen on leaving windows open around the clock.What you can see in this picture is a frame that has stretched within it "zaia Quality White Fibreglass Screen Mesh". These sash jammers were then used (4 per window) to hold that frame in place.Because my joiner (under my direction) put the frame on the outside of the Velux window - there's enough room to have them open a good 3-4 inches and, with the mesh in place and preventing "intruders", can stay open all night.Once it gets to the point where it's "turn the heating" time - then the frames can be put away and the white sash jammers look reasonably ok, just turned to the neutral position.I'm chuffed with them and, on a couple of recent stifling nights, it's been great to be able to have the 2 windows open.

Easy to install, and cheap. The "depth" between the base and the rotating catch isn't huge, maybe about 1cm. This works perfectly for my doors (which have a step of about 1cm between inner jamb surface and inner door surface) but I couldn't easily fit it to a window which has a deeper recess. If you want to bridge a bigger gap I'm sure you could pack something underneath the base of the bolt, and maybe use longer screws.Sometimes the little round white plastic screw-covers fall out, but that's just aesthetic, you could keep them in place with a dab of something sticky if you prefer.

I binned the screws that came with the kit and installed these sash jammers using jack nuts, which expand inside the UPVC frames https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B009L3JQV6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_X12RNCXP154AHBR4K1RPThis means drilling a 10mm hole in the door/window frame, but it adds a further layer of security. I cant comment on the build quality of the product, but they seem OK.

These are really good for extra door security, you can fit to the door if it opens out or the frame for those that open in and they just give extra piece of mind.

Bought this to add an additional layer of security to widows. Easy to install onto UPVC frames and the supplied screws provide a tight fit but the screw caps do not fit and pop out. Cant rate on durability.

The build quality isn’t the best. These don’t come with plastic hight adjustments, the moving latch is loose compare to the sashes I’ve purchased from another seller.

Advised to buy these as my double glased side windoe lock was broken. could not afford to replace this. I have attached these to all my windows as they are very strong and have added a better security to my house.
