Must-Have Brush for Defining Curls
The Denman D4 is fantastic for curly and textured hair. It glides through without snagging, evenly distributes product, and really helps define curls while reducing frizz. The 9-row design gives excellent control, whether I’m detangling in the shower or styling damp hair. The brush feels sturdy, comfortable in hand, and easy to clean. Overall, this is a high-quality, reliable brush that every curly-haired person should have in their routine.

BEST THING EVER BUY NOW
No really. This is the best brush ever. I have super kinky curly hair and this brush is a life savor. I'm 21 and I for the last 21 have struggled to be able to brush my hair. This brush goes through my hair and detangles it and then helps reform my curls. Atractched are two photos, the one with the sunglasses is with using the brush (and finding eco styler gel with flaxseed and diffusing spring in Florida so super humid) but the other was before finding this magical brush and just using a wet brush and letting my hair air dry (this is in the winter in Ohio low to no himidity). Give this brush a try and buy. Every time I use it I don't want to stop brushing my hair. For me it works best reforming my curl when I use it in the shower and my hair is soaking wet and then I apply gel (my hair dries very quickly) but really really I'm begging you to buy this. It is the best brush ever. I went from having to get knots cut out of my hair growing up to having this brush and loving it. I'm telling everyone (even strangers I see with curly hair) to buy this. JUST BUY IT. In 2 days your life will be changed.

Best brush I have ever had!!
It goes through my just above waist length, thick, wavy hair wonderfully!! I love how my Denman quickly detangles my hair and with so many bristles to separate the strands, my hair dries in no time!! Love my Denman!! The handle is a comfortable size (the previous brush I tried had a weird shaped handle and I seemed to have a knack for flinging it out of my hand while brushing, lol) I selected the 9-row Denman as I wanted enough bristles to get through my hair and wasn’t sure the 7-row would be enough (turns out the 7-row is perfect for my youngest daughter’s long, fine and slightly hair!!) This brush also fits well in my purse, making it easy to brush my hair on the go!! Have I mentioned yet how much I love this brush?!! I did a lot of research before I bought this brush. I knew I wanted a Denman, but I had no idea there were so many brushes to choose from!! Denman has the perfect brush for you, whether you have curly hair, wavy hair or spaghetti straight hair!!!

Hate the handle, LOVE the brush
My cousin initially told me about the Denman brush, and after doing some research, I decided that I'd like to make my curls pop too. I only use this brush on my hair when it's wet, using any brush or comb dry on my hair is a huge nope. That being said, I was pretty annoyed that the handle is so smooth with absolutely zero grip to it. Not paying attention to that in the pictures was on me, but who the heck would design a brush handle to have no grip, especially one for detangling, styling, or for use with wet hair? If I -just- have wet hands, it might be okay to hold, but any sort of product makes this brush a literal pain and a half to use, especially if you have unruly hair like me that instantly "tangles" after being detangled. There are other models that have slightly different handles and are made from different materials, but if I recall correctly, they were either more expensive, or didn't have the number of rows I wanted. The color of the brush wasn't something I was concerned with. The "red" looks more like a dark pink, but again, I didn't really care since it's just a brush. The black is nice and rich, and the gold accents are nice. I opted for the 9 row over the others because (if I remember correctly) one of the YouTube videos I watched said that their curls seemed more defined with it over the others, and I figured it didn't matter much since I could take out some of the rows if necessary. Which, by the way, I found out that it's really hard to do that. Maybe I'm a bit weak and afraid of destroying the brush, but I decided after a few tugs that I wasn't going to try to pull out the center to remove the rows—I'm fine with the brush as it is. As far as its actual function, I'm completely satisfied with the brush. I always detangle big knots with a comb first, then come behind it with the brush. I've found that I have less hair in the brush if I do this. It's a personal preference since, again, my hair is a 4c nightmare that shrinks and coils and snuggles up with itself. Anyway, when I use the brush, I add leave in conditioner and the wetline extreme gel, and it leaves my curls looking AMAZING! I don't look like I have a weird halfro (not a typo) and the definition makes me sooo happy. Cute wash and go's are actually possible for me now, something I never thought possible after I started my natural hair journey 10 years ago and had a less-than-perfect attempt at one of those curly hair YouTube tutorials. Sadly, I still deal with an unthinkable amount shrinkage, something which seems a bit more extreme when I use the brush. I see a lot of reviews where people possibly got fake brushes, and I did research on that as well before buying it. The brush is made to come apart... It's clearly made of different colors and plastics, so I'm not sure why anyone would assume that it's going to stay one piece, forever, even if glued. Also, on fake brushes, the logo will be in the wrong spot and the "Made in the U.K" bit will be missing or it will say something else. The one I received had all the right placings and brandings, so I either got lucky, or others aren't buying from the Denman store on Amazon, so they're getting fakes. Regardless, the brush I received works great, and looks great, but Denman definitely needs to address the handle issue.

Great for all hair types
I purchased this brush for my granddaughter, she has a head full of natural curl but she hates brushing it. I read reviews on this brush and it really is a GREAT brush! I can get through her tangles and bring out her beautiful curls without hurting her sensitive head... this brush also works wonders with short, semi straight hair, I blow dry my hair using it and wow, I get volume I couldn't get with other brushes. It really is that great.. The only downside of the brush is the handle, it's a bit shorter than I'd like. Hard to keep a grip in it if there is any leave in conditioner on your hands, other than that I couldn't be more happy. Trust the reviews! How many people would review a hairbrush if it wasn't the best!

Have used a Denman brush since I was a young girl
I've had a classic, Denman brush exactly like this since I was a young girl and it's still the best brush I have ever used. The brush has smooth, nylon bristles that have rounded tips. They are set into a rubber base that flexes so it's very gentle on the scalp. The bristles are set fairly wide apart so it's fantastic for brushing and detangling thick, long and curly hair without pain or damage to your hair. However, it works beautifully on any hair. It's very easy to clean and is almost indestructible. The bristles never break or get rough. The handle is impervious to water and is virtually unbreakable. I've had my old one for at least 20 years old and the only reason I bought this new one is that I accidentally left the old one behind when I was out of town. I'm thrilled that this new one is exactly like my old one (except I chose the black handle instead.) I also got a second one for my teen son with waist length hair because I was tired of him taking off with my brush. ;-)

Does The Job Well But Pretty Pricey in Comparison to its Actual Quality
The pink part started to lift up at the seams on the first use and the bristles are a little crooked now, which for an $11 product seems absurd and disappointing. Perhaps I was a little too rough with the brush, because it hasn't come apart more since then. As a whole, I like the brush though. After short bit of struggle in the beginning (my hair is EXTREMELY stubborn lol) the denman brushes pretty evenly through my curls after I wash or have product in, makes it really soft and shiny. I have really thick, long medium hair, and it saved me a bunch of time when I had to brush it all out before a hair appointment I had the next morning. Had I had to do it with only my wide tooth comb, I probably wouldn't have gotten any sleep 😂 If you have a better comb or brush than this already in your arsenal of tools, like most of us curly girlies do, then I'd go with that. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?. But if you're looking for a extra bit of help to save time or you want to just see what the hype's about, then I'd give it a try.
