Most computer speakers are small in size and sound and for the avg person work OK but if your looking for speakers that will give your music depth and some degree of quality you need speakers with drivers ( woofers , tweeters ) large enough to produce better sound.I have owned a number of computer speakers ranging from cheap ones to Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX and Behringer MS16 Active Personal Monitor System and i have to say the Thonet & Vander - KURBIS are now my favorite. BTW because of having larger drivers they need time to break in , it's taken 10 hours playing them on low for them to being to bloom and open up with a more detailed warm sound. The four star rating is only because they are a little bright and being hooked up to a computer not a warm amp there is nothing that can be changed but for people that like their music with bright high notes they will love these speakers.I took a shot with these little known ( in the USA ) speakers and i very pleased with how they preform and sound.

The speakers have two RCA inputs which can be connected to two sources of music and they will blend together.In my case, I connect the 1st one to my smartphone to play MP3 music from the phone, and the 2nd input to Yamaha Silent Upright Piano (it is an acoustic piano that can play electronic sound generator as well). The manual says that the 1st input is for low source like MP3 or smartphones and the 2nd input is for sources like DVD or CD players.I love these speakers because they are powerful. I play all kinds of music from blues to classical. Even with 50% volume, the speakers can produce loud music. I set the treble to 75% to create dramatic strings, perfect for Mozart and Tchaikovsky's symphonies.There is no label showing where the speakers are made. I assume they are made in China.The speakers fit my budget ($100) quite nicely. I thought of buying the Bluetooth version but I find it too expensive that just adding a Bluetooth chip inside the speakers makes the price double ($200). The specs are exactly the same. I'll buy if they were $30 - $50 more. I believe the Bluetooth chip did not cost $100.

connected the speakers and after a short time the active speaker stopped working. i connected the passive one to my Mackie speaker and it sounds fantastic, much clearer and more real. for some reason the active speaker short circuited has anyone had similar problem? just sent email to Amazon to see what can be done as all options are going to be costly from my side.

i tried three different brands then i cam across the kurbis . i could not be happier .my hat if off to thonet and vander

Good speakers overall. Nice and crisp highs for the money. Unfortunately, there is not much of a bass, even tho they have 5 inch woofers. So if you are looking for a deep bass, these speakers will disappoint you

Weak bass response, treble and mids are decent. Not impressed.

Audio quality for high and mid range frequency is good. Bass frequency output is ok if one is comparing of that from a subwoofer..Best part is we can mix three audio inputs together, can enjoy Karaoke by connecting mic with preamp.BT connectivity is good.
