Q: these have an anti slip just wonder if I can run barrels in them and they have a grip like jeans

I’m sure you could run barrels in them as they are very comfortable and cool In the Summer. They have grippers in the seat but the material of the actual pant is nylon/spandex so I would say no they don’t grip like jeans.

Q: is there any padding in the seat or knees? Not sure if the carrot pattern inseam provide extra padding ? Are these good for a beginner rider?

There is no padding in these riding pants, in either the seat or the knees. The carrot-pattern just helps make your seat a little more 'grippy' and less 'slippy'. That being said, I love these riding pants - as well as the Micro-cord Bootcut ones - as the fit is very flattering and comfortable. I've been buying the Micro-Cord Butcut pants for years and love them because they wear so well. I am kinda ticked at Kerrits for producing them only in black anymore - I have a stone- and a grey- colored pair as well, which I've had for years but are beginning to show wear-and-tear - and love them all. As for being a beginner rider, no, these aren't going to keep you in the saddle if things go sideways - that's what lessons, practice, and time in the saddle is for - but they are comfortable and stylish.

Cool & Comfortable Riding

I have another pair of Kerrits (micro cord bootcut) that I wear in the winter and love. These ice fil bootcut jods are comfortable and cool for summer riding. I ride saddleseat and especially liked the tall length. Love the sticky seat. Great pants, highly recommend!

Very flattering pants

I have to wear half chaps with these pants, however, they are still my favorite pants to ride in. They are lightweight and allow maximum flexibility
