Giro Aspect Road Cycling Helmet

I get so confused about bad reviews, this is really light weight and rides off your head, its really comfortable, like ridiculously comfortable. It does kind of resemble a watermelon, so while its stylish its still a helmet. It is made for upright riding, if you use your drop handlebars and ride in an aggressive position you might want to look at a different helmet.

I absolutely LOVE this helmet. It’s lightweight, well ventilated, fits well to my head, and it’s got a removable visor that does a fantastic job of keeping the sun out of my eyes without blocking anything from my field of vision. I wear a size 7 1/4 hat and I ordered this helmet in medium.Giro tried to go with a casual urban look with this helmet. I actually think it looks just as much at home on a hardcore road biker as it does on an average bicycle commuter. The only things that make it look casual are the colors and the cloth brim. All of the colors available have an understated and elegant look and the presence of the brim give it something of a casual ball cap appearance. The brim is easily removed (it uses a Velcro type material) and the helmet looks just as good without the brim.Tightening and loosening the fit is done by turning a small dial on the back of the helmet. It’s easy enough to operate and it’s very effective.The helmet straps are very thin and lay almost flat against my head. They’re very comfortable and, like the rest of the helmet, I almost forget they’re there.Also, when worn, the entire helmet is suspended off the head. This really improves the ventilation of the helmet as air is free to run along the entire top of the head.This is my helmet of choice for Arizona’s 100 plus degree summer months. The ample ventilation, the light weight, and the brim all do there part in keeping my head from overheating.I really struggle to think of any real downsides to this helmet. I suppose if it somehow had a lower profile it would have been nice but I understand that it needs to be as thick as it is for safety reasons. Also, it’d be nice if they had a MIPS option for this helmet.Regardless of my nitpicking complaints, I give this helmet 5/5 stars. It’s BY FAR the most comfortable “urban commuter” helmet out there and, as you can see, I struggle to come up with any flaws.

Very light, comfortable and good looking helmet. I didn't want one of those spaceship helmets on my head so I went with this one and I was very happy with the purchase. The helmet also feels light and well ventilated when riding. I picked the matt black since it matches my bike. lol Highly recommended. The only downside is the price which is a tad expensive but I suppose you get what you pay for. The Roc Loc system works pefectly (the helmet fits like a glove). The detachable visor is a bit flimsy but I only have it for a couple weeks and it seems ok for now. This helmet is basically like a big baseball hat (and a mushroom head like the other reviewer pointed out) but it's also a very casual-looking helmet.

Loved this helmet's function and understated aesthetic. Unfortunately at around a year of use the coating/paint started peeling off and now it has almost completely peeled off all areas of the helmet. Giro has been anything but helpful in remedying the problem, and now I'm stuck with a $175 s*** looking helmet. Very unfortunate.

I needed to replace an old helmet and wanted a simple design. Forget something you might see in the Tour de France - I am not a wanna-be racer. But give me something with better ventilation than a typical urban helmet, because I like to go on long weekend rides and an occasional group event, rather than commute. This is the same weight as my old bucket - not super light, but not a rock either. The visor is a nice touch for keeping the sun from peeking over the top of my glasses and keeping the rain from running in my eyes. It is the only helmet I have found that satisfies my criteria for style and function. It also fits well. My only complaint was it took me over an hour to adjust the straps to fit my head. Was I having a bad day, or is this just a complicated set up? Overall, I am very happy with the helmet.

Simply stated, this helmet is superb. Lightweight, strong and stylish. I could NOT be happier. It took a bit of fussing around with the chin strap to get it right, but now fits very comfortably. I'm not a spandex guy, whose into the elfen teardrop electro look. Granted, my daughter jokes that my head looks like a mushroom with this on, but I kinda like that look! This fits my style and taste (I love sauteed mushrooms).

Its ok and looks good. Its not particularly comfortable, and straps seems to change gradually and need to be reconfigured every so often. The visor is just held in place by velcro and after putting the bike on my backpack as I walked, the visor fell off somewhere. I think I would get a different helmet next time.

Great fit, high quality parts. I didn't want to look like everyone else with the space ship road bike helmets. I think this one is a nice 'in between" style.. not too crazy, but not a standard "commuter" helmet either.

Nice, practical helmet. I like the visor, cool on the head. Strap seems a bit flimsy, but we'll see with time.

I originally bought this helmet 6 months ago and within a month the shell started "bubbling" up as if it were seperating.

medium is too small and large is a little too large...maybe I just have a weird head.
