Dewalt saw
Great saw! A nice feature is you can install the blades either vertically or horizontally.

Very powerful tool
Very powerful tool. I like the feature that I can turn the blade in different ways for ease to cut. It seems it uses up the 2 Ah battery pretty fast. Maybe this is the reason it is quite powerful.

Great Sawsall
Seems to be great for the price. I've always used a corded one, so this one being cordless is a big plus.

The Best Reciprocating Saw I Have Used
Absolutely fantastic! Light, yet sturdy, no cord, convenient and fast cutting. This is a huge win for any project where you don't have a plug nearby. The chuck design is excellent with super quick release blade exchange and no little screw to tighten with a special wrench (that always gets lost) as so many other reciprocating saws have. The blade stays in well and the front is adjustable for different tip length and angles. It cuts quick and stops immediately once you let go of the trigger which is a good safety feature. If you are already using DEWALT tools and have the batteries, getting the bare tool is a good cost saver. If you are new to DEWALT, it may be best to get one with the battery and charger, or if buying a battery separate, look for a minimum of 3AH battery. Less than that will run through really quick.

Decent tool, but some flaws
I recently got this tool to cut PVC and ABS pipes for a DIY project. The tool feels solid and well made, but it has a few pretty annoying problems:1. The blades do not lock in properly. I got DeWalt blades too. Once locked in, there's significant side-to-side play, as if the calipers do not fully tighten over the blade in the locked position. That seems to me like a pretty major flaw, since at high speed the back-and-forth motion of the saw can easily push the blade sideways and snap it. I don't know what the folks at Dewalt were thinking.. maybe they designed the saw for thicker blades and the recent ones they sell are just not thick enough (cost savings??) resulting in this arguably unsafe condition.2. The angle of attack seems wrong. If you look closely at the photos, you can see that the blade installs at a certain angle relative to the axis of motion, which means it is not possible to use this saw like one would use a manual saw , where the teeth move back and forth perfectly along the saw's axis of motion. Instead, the teeth move away from the material when the blade pushes forward, and subsequently they hit and bite into the material at an angle when the blade pulls back. This introduces more vibration than necessary and makes the cuts rougher than they would be otherwise if the blade teeth were to simply move back and forth along the axis of motion.3. The shoe at the tip is flimsy. There is a metal shoe at the tip that allows the saw body to push against and align with the material for a 90 degree cut. This shoe swivels up-down, but it's not possible to "lock" it in any given position. It will swivel while cutting, as one moves the saw along the material. I don't see the point of this. It introduces yet another point of instability during cuts, in addition to the side-to-side blade play.

Don’t underestimate battery power
This DeWalt tool is a beast! First sawzall I’ve owned that is battery powered and I had my doubts. But this saw has more than enough power to get any job done. Also, the blade chuck allows the user to install the blade vertically or horizontally. Finally, the blade chuck is no lightweight either. Very strong and well designed. HIGHLY recommend this one!
