Excellent Replacement Battery for Toyota Smart Key Remote
The CR1632 lithium battery in the Toyota Smart Key remote usually needs to be replaced about every 3 years. I was looking for a reliable brand-name replacement battery and found this Panasonic 5-pack from Photoland. I received a factory packed 5-battery strip and found that it exactly matched the Amazon product description as you can see from the attached photo. The batteries were made in Indonesia and appear to be genuine Panasonic products. Unfortunately the "use by date" was not printed on any of the batteries or packaging but I checked the voltage on two of the batteries with a digital multi-meter and found an average 3.05 Vdc which indicates that the batteries are fresh according to the Panasonic spec sheets. Overall, I found these batteries to be an excellent value! It is easy to replace the battery in your Smart Key remote as long as you are careful not to break any of the internal parts (a replacement remote can cost from $200 (used) - $500 (new)!). I put together some step-by-step instructions with pictures to change the Smart Key battery:1) pry open the remote using the remote's valet key in the slot as shown2) carefully remove the internal circuit board and remove the battery holder from the circuit board by very carefully pushing back the four plastic holding tabs3) remove the old battery from the plastic battery holder by very carefully pushing back the three plastic holding tabs4) put the new battery in the battery holder with the correct polarity and re-attach the battery holder to the circuit board5) place the circuit board back into remote (make sure the switch buttons line up) and re-assemble the remote case

Best Lithiom Batteries Available! Look Extra Carefully to See Date Codes
I Love these PANASONIC CR-1632 batteries at an extremely attractive price! Initially, I hesitated purchasing these because many reviews stated there were no date codes on the packaging. I think I may have identified what the problem is with the missing date codes. The date code is VERY FAINTLY printed on the back of the packaging to the right of the bar code (see photo). With the naked eye, it is nearly impossible to read the date code, even in good light. Thanks to the camera on my phone, I was able to photograph the code and enhance it with the Photos app.Mine were marked (see photo):PD 11-2019 (i'm assuming: PD = Production Date)ED 11-2029 (i'm assuming: ED = Expiry Date)I exclusively use Panasonic batteries after having so many other manufacturers' batteries go bad in 1/3 to 1/4 the time the Panasonic batteries last. I usually get about 3 years of service from the Panasonic batteries in our Toyota and Lexus key fobs. I noticed that Toyota/Lexus use Panasonic batteries. My batteries arrived in perfect shape via USPS in a heavy paper envelope (business size envelope). They arrived three days after I ordered them. Thanks for a great product and a really great price!

Battery works as expected
I ordered those batteries to replace old battery for my 2010 Prius. I learn how to open the remote key from a video on youtube.com, when the batteries arrived, I follow the instructions to replace the battery in the remote key. It works perfectly. The new battery in the remote key works and it does not trigger a low-battery warning message as before.

Received in a timely manner.
Good service at a good price. They are 5 batteries in individual blister packs. I do not know how long they last, I just received them.

Can't recommend, repackaged item
These batteries came repackaged in a small zip lock bag. They had no original package and no manufacture date, unable to assess age of batteries. They did have Panasonic stamped on the battery, but who knows... Can't recommend.

OEM, (Original Equipment Manufacturer), versus generic, or off brand.
After ordering replacement batteries for my home phones and being very disappointed I'm very happy to report complete satisfaction with the replacement batteries I purchased for my car's remote control. The difference is generic versus OEM.(Original Equipment Manufacturer). With hindsight being 20/20, I made very sure my next batteries were either OEM or a name brand. When I ordered the phone batteries the vendor showed the exact same batteries as the ones I had in my phone but when I received them they were different. What I got was some off brand that were as bad as what I just replaced. They would not hold a charge and I ended up having to re-replace them. I called the phone manufacturer and they sold me the OEM's. They told me to watch out for companies that "bait and switch". Not all generic products are bad but if they are bad the chances are they are some off brand or are generic.

Avalon
We have had an Avalon for almost 3 years. A few weeks ago I found that my key fob no longer worked. I found out how to open it and got the battery type and ordered a set from Amazon. They arrived quickly. I installed the new one in my fob and it works just fine. About a week later my wife's fob failed. I installed new battery in hers also. Now I am looking forward to three more years of fob operation. In case you have one of these and the battery goes dead here is the procedure for starting your vehicle. Make sure all doors are closed. Touch fob logo side facing start button on the start button. You will hear a beep. Step on the brake and press start button within 5 seconds. Use the key inside the fob to lock/unlock doors. Oh yes the key inside the fob can be used to pry open the fob for battery installation. Do that carefully.
