Sportixx Track and Field Spikes, Christmas Tree Running Cleats, 32 Count (1/4 inch)

My son used them for the first time in the 400m and 200m. He did well, but reports they didn't feel the same as the pointed type. (not better,just different).Though a different feel was to be expected the only question remaining is how do these differ from spikes that have just lost their point? He'll try them again on other tracks and decide then. For now, it's a 50/50 decision.

I expected the order in 3 days and I received it in 2 days! I like the safety of the Christmas tree spikes - as there are no holes in my shoe bag and I didn't spike myself taking off my racing spikes (which happens every now and then)! I competed in 4 events - I had a PR in the 55m and I had normal results in the 100m, 200m, & long jump. The track surface was synthetic rubber and was soggy due to thunderstorms the night before as well as two rain delays during the meet. The spikes provided traction and held the track. I have used ceramic Christmas spikes in the past and after a few meets, the ceramic spike were either bent or worn down. After the track meet, the steel Sportixx Christmas Tree Spikes showed no sign of wear. Also, it is nice to have 32 spikes as I race with two different shoes as one is a 9-spike plate and the other is a 5-spike plate. The Sportixx Christmas Tree Spikes are suitable and I will use them at allowable track meets.
