Primarily bought this for a music festival with multiple days of camping. We went a previous year and saw many people with these portable propane fire pits and decided we had to have one. Setup is easy just add the stones to the bowl and hook up to propane tank and fire away.I thoroughly tested this fire pit using a small 5lb propane tank since we didn't want to haul the 20lber from the grill. On LOW setting, you can get about ~1 hour per 1lb of propane. A 5lb tank used on low lasted us about an hour an a half each night for 3 nights. Got a little over 5 hours total run-time. A 20lb tank could get you several hours if kept on low. Even on the lowest setting this thing put out good heat and kept us nice and cozy in the 30's and 40's at night. Very happy with this purchase! We will be bringing it with us to future festivals and will bring it camping any time there is a fire ban or if we don't feel like starting a traditional campfire.

I ordered this March 23, 2021 and it has been amazing! Easy to use, puts out good local warmth, makes yummy smores, pretty portable! We pick up a 20lb propane canister from the exchange sites and it will last us at least 20 hours. (Maybe more? We don't track it!)We did purchase a seperate carrying case to protect it during travel.

I did a lot of research before deciding to buy this fire pit. I read all the reviews of less expensive models, scoured the internet for reviews on RV sites, and polled a few Facebook RV groups to see what they were using. All reviews pointed me to this fire pit. One review site said about a cheaper model if you want something that lasts and won’t break the bank get an Outland.I must admit I really wanted the big red because well it’s red and it’s cute. The thing that stopped me was the fire area is only something like 9 inches. While cute it didn’t seem like sitting around that small of a fire pit worked for me, and the cost was about $70 more.I used that savings to get the bag to go with this pit directly from Outland, and glad I did. Makes packing up a breeze!Used it at Christmas while camping and New Years too and it worked great! We were toasty warm sitting by the fire. The think to note with these though is that there is not heat that comes out of the bottom so unlike a traditional wood fire that pumps out heat to the ground your feet might get a little chilly but the rest of you will be warm.Some folks say this takes a lot of propane. I can’t comment on that simply because we only used it a few hours each night. In any event it already paid for itself with 5 days of camping and not even fully using a 5 gallon propane tank. When we camp we normally burn at least 2 or 3 bundles of wood each night and so it’s already virtually paid for itself in just two trips. Also wanted to point out that I didn’t smell propane while it was running either, unlike some of those propane heaters. Lastly and the nicest thing of all was not having to constantly move chairs to get out of the smoke.If your considering a fire pit look no further this pit is great!

Having previously tried two other fire pits, we were thoroughly pleased with this one. It "lives larger" than the typical 19 inch gas fire bowl/pit. The flames were satisfyingly large. It did not look like just a circle of flame right over the burner. The flames danced like a real fire. It was easy: TURN ON TANK GAS SLOWLY. Hold a flame over the burner. Turn on the fire pit SLOWLY until it starts. Let it stabilize. Adjust flame height. The key to it all is this "slowly " business. Gas lines now have a built -in safety feature that cuts gas flow if turned on too fast. The accompanying literature is very clear about how to set it up and start this. Way better than the other two we tried. We recommend this. It makes a bigger, nicer, warmer fire than the ones we tried before. With a lot more lava rocks too! Maybe our other brand problems were the gas line regulator but the other brand instructions did not mention it. This company gets an A+ for clarity, instructions and illustrations. This portable campfire saved our camping trip! Fire restrictions allowed for propane campfires. Our granddaughters loved it and enjoyed their beloved s'mores. Easy to operate and store. Fire is distributed evenly and the flames danced up nicely!

It worked very well, easy set up, great flame. But since it's not a returnable/replaceable item, if it's missing a part, you're S.O.L. Which happened to me. Other than being stuck without a carry strap, it did work as advertised.Edit: Contacted Outland and with the warranty they sent me new straps free of charge. So minus the inconvenience of contacting Amazon and Outland, it was still a great purchase. 4.5/5 stars.
