Great taste, nice aroma and now using this rice since long. After using this rice never liked any other brand. This is gluten free and non glycemic as claimed in product details.

Average quality

This is THE BEST basmati I have ever come Cross n i have tried almost all brands found in India. 1) It's very long grained (soak it in normal water for half hour n the grains elongate twice its usual size). Cook it in clay pot or non stick/steel pot n the grains cook very fast n very soft. If cooked in cooker, it can break the delicate grains n u will lose the long grain advantage. 2) Very fragrant (experienced such fragrance after really long time as other brands only give long grained basmati but dont contain any fragrance). 3) Amazon often sells this at lightning sale, so keep a lookout n buy then. Even normally its avbl for Rs 835/ 5kgs vich is very good price considering I have spent equivalent amounts on other basmati brands only to find out that it lacks either in length or fragrance. So this rice is definitely value for money. This is my third purchase within 6 months n my family loves this rice. I even gifted a pack to my mom on mothers day n she loved it. The fragrance spreads throughout the house while cooking. Rice lovers....dont think twice...try out this rice at once !

This rice quality had been very good. But this time it's so disappointing. No qualities of basmati rice except it's long grain.

Shri Lal Mahal Empire Basmati rice is long grained, good in quality and taste. However the concern is on package weight. Consecutive 2 times I see the weight is 4.980 kg including the packet. The weight should be over 5 kg, like 5.030 kg including packet weight. Even time I get around 50 gms less in quantity. This weight issue should be addressed and corrected.

The moment you open the pack, one single whiff and you know that you have got the right product. Its not artificially long & works just perfect. I tried making both pulav and dum biryani - each time it came out to be just perfect with my regular measurements. If cooking the rice outside seperate - use 2 cups of boiling water for 1 cup of rice - cook over med-high for 3-4 mins till the grains are fairly visible on top and then on the lowest flame covered for 8 mins. Leave it to rest for 10 mins after cooking and you would end up with the most fluffy soft and perfect cooked rice. Same method can be used for pulav too where you can add water after cooking the veggies and then add rice in the end. For biryani, I boiled around 2-3 lits of water for 2.5 cups of rice and after adding all the spices, I just cooked the rice in it for 5-6 mins. Layered it and dum cooked for about - 5 mins on high, 25 mins on low over tawa, 5 mins again on high ( These were the timings for my dum process ) and each grain gave a standing salute when I opened my degchi ! Most importantly this rice absorbs flavors very nicely and has very low starchy effect. Probably one of the best ones in market but I seriously hope they price it a little competitively. I got a 1 kilo pack to start by and for 230 per kilo, this pinches your pocket quite a lot :)

Basmati is one of the most premium rice and few characteristics of a good Basmati are 1) Long and uniform Grain 2) Aromatic 3) Pre cooking and Post cooking texture and time. We have been using Basmati since I was a kid and it’s a regular in my home for my daily cooking be it Biryani or Steamed Rice. So I am quite particular about the quality and brand I use. I have tried many brands and had settled on one of the premium brands since last 5 years until I received this Amazing Premium product from “SHRILALMAHAL”, the moment I opened the packet I was in love with it as the fragrance was so intact which gave a proof of good packaging. I just soaked them for 40 mins and steamed them in boiling water and they were unbelievably ready in just 7 mins 👏🏻 perfect noodle like length, no breakage and enticing Aroma that filled my house. My family is in love with this and have summoned me not to change the brand now 😊
